I am extremely happy with the care my auntie is receiving at Deangate. The staff are very attentive to my auntie's increasing needs and always go that extra mile to ensure she is comfortable and well cared for.

Our aunty has only been in Deangate Care Home for a couple of months, but we are extremely happy with the care she is receiving. All the staff seem genuinely concerned and want to do their best to cater for my aunt's needs. The home always looks clean and tidy and from what I've heard, the meals are home-cooked and delicious. I have no concerns regarding the care my aunt is receiving.

It's my mum's first residential home, we weren't looking forward to Mum living away from us, but Deangate and all the staff have made Mum feel welcome and at home. They can't do enough for the residents - hospital appointments etc.

From day one, I have been satisfied with my wife's care. The staff are always willing to help should I need anything during my visit and they always look after my wife if she needs anything during my visit. I can go home after my visit knowing that my wife is getting the care and attention she needs. Overall, rating 5-stars.

Couldn't run a party in a brewery comes to mind. If I could name and shame I would but obviously, that's why you don't let reviews do this. You should take good and bad. It's been the worst seven and a half months of my life. Things surely can only get better. I would love to name the few people that have helped me with my progress, you know who you are, and all the kitchen staff are amazing and feed you. Amazing with what they have to work with. If you are reading this and you have family in this facility, I would say to keep your eyes open as lies and complaints have led to me being removed from this home because it's my leg I lost not my eyes and ears. I feel for the residents and the few carers that do really care as they get treated like a dogsbody. Sorry if you don't like this review but as I've always said I only tell truth and if the truth hurts then that's it. I hope the staff all get swapped around and let them run the place. I bet things would run more smoothly.

The staff at the home are extremely friendly and caring.
I am always comforted by the staff's passion to care for my mum.
The home is always clean and tidy.
I always leave knowing that the staff have my mum's best interest, comfort and care needs, and this is of most importance to them.

This really does mean a lot, thank you.

I cannot speak too highly of the staff, they do an excellent job in a difficult type of work. While understanding the companies situation, I see overworked ladies meeting the statutory requirements, including completing records, not well paid and working continual shifts. They are all nearly running around.

Activities are almost impossible to provide with the wide range of residents problems. My background enables me to make valued judgement.

My father went into the care of the team at Deangate in July 2019 and from that moment on he was looked after as if he was family. My Mum was also welcomed and made to feel part of it which was very important as it was a difficult decision for her to have to place Dad in someone else's care.
Sadly, Dad passed away recently but I can honestly say that every single one of the team could not have done more to look after and care for him. One member of staff particularly went above and beyond to ensure he had the best care from all the external providers (local GP etc). The manager and the whole team are true professionals who have the dignity and well being of the residents and their family at the forefront of what they do.

I cannot recommend Deangate highly enough and want to thank the whole team for their love and support during this difficult time.

All the staff are very pleasant and approachable. They always keep me well informed on all aspects of Mother's care. The care home is always clean and well run. It is a pleasure to visit.

My dad initially went into Deangate for a week's respite, he felt at home there with the friendly staff, they made my dad feel very welcome. My mum got to the point where she could no longer look after my dad at home, so we made the decision to put Dad into full-time care, because we had had such a good experience at Deangate before we chose it to be his permanent home. I never worry about Dad's safety, I know he is well taken care of. The staff always tell us of any issues we need to know about promptly. I feel the staff at Deangate know my dad as an individual because they take time to talk with him and get to know him. I would recommend Deangate to anyone wanting a home that cares for their relatives. The staff are always friendly to my mum and me too, which certainly helps when you are going through the hard decision of placing a loved one in to care.

My mum was a total nervous wreck when I removed her from this place. Jewellery had gone missing. She was afraid of being locked in her bedroom. A comment from a staff member when the jewellery went missing was well it's just one of those things. That comment was made in front of a social worker. The way my mum was handled was totally disgusting. She wasn't clean and lost weight, crying all the time.

I just hope that the people who rate this home as good, get the chance to see another home like the one my mum is in now. They would then realise how bad Deangate is.

My dad has been a resident at Deangate for 3 years. In my opinion, this care home has had a lot of bad publicity. Yes, it's had a lot of work and the staff here have been and always are, very good. Also very good at all the aspects of their communication with residents and visitors.

The care home is where my mum has been a resident for over the past 2 years. The care home has improved in that time, the staff from the manager down are all hard working, friendly and will do all they can to help. The care home has residents with various care needs from very little to very complex and difficult. The only concern I would have is at times the carers are over-stretched with regards to the resident to carer ratio.
