My dad is cared for with warmth and respect. Carers anticipate what his needs may be, especially one staff member in particular who is simply amazing! Communication is excellent from nursing staff and the manager, keeps an overview of everything. She is knowledgeable about so many things and has been
a wonderful advocate for dad. Food is freshly made and prepared with such care. The house has decorations and parties for the time of year and every effort is made for it to feel like a home. Dad has settled better than we could have ever imagined and it is down to the consistent care he is given at Cambron House. We feel very lucky to have found them after a traumatic experience at a previous care home. The trust and gratitude we feel towards the wonderful people who work at Cambron, is immense.

Throughout my mother's time at Cambron House I have had greater peace of mind knowing that, given her need for 24 hour care due to health/dementia, she is in a safer environment than she would have at home. I have have found the regular staff and the management very supportive and compassionate in their
provision for Mum's needs and their attitude towards me. Though some of the residents/patients have challenging behaviours/needs my experience has been that they are friendly and welcoming in discharging their duties. They try to tap into opportunities that exist for entertainment/celebration of special events too.

Our beloved mum has been in Cambron House a few years now and we are extremely thankful for the care she receives there. She has advanced Alzheimer's disease and is cared for with kindness and dignity. Staff, carers and nurses are so kind and friendly, and our family sincerely appreciates their care
and the service provided is exceptional. Mum eats very well and has been made as comfortable as possible during times she has been unwell. While management has changed over time, we appreciate how the current management has been especially thoughtful through the pandemic with helpful communications for which we are so grateful. Our mum is in good hands at Cambron.

Fantastic and loving place, well kept. Quiet and nicely clean. The service and support staff are caring and helpful. Every resident and patient and the entire building enjoys the daily activities - of course, if you'd prefer solitude, you're welcome to do so in their covered patio overlooking the mountains
and farms! An absolute gem of a facility - Stop into a tour and see for yourself!

Current Review Score: 8.0 (8.049)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.0 (8.049) out of 10 for Cambron House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.917 for Cambron House is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.917
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.132 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cambron House is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.132
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
