Staff are professional and friendly and always look clean and smart. Nursing staff, carers, management, and admin staff always helpful, courteous, and patient with my mum, who can be difficult at times.

Review from D P (Husband of Resident) published on 30 March 2020 Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Welcoming friendly and caring to both residents and relatives.
Only weakness is the, perhaps, too relaxed attitude to visitors taking residents out - my concern is if staff always know who is in or out. A slightly tighter recording process or perhaps just informing visitors of the process could be
helpful - This is only a minor point.

Annie

Annie Kudangirana

Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2016

My name is Annie Kudangirana, and I am the Registered Manager at Eagle House Care Home, a role I have proudly held for the past five years. With over twenty years of experience in the care sector, I bring a deep commitment to excellence, empathy, and leadership in adult and mental health nursing.

From a young age, I aspired to become a nurse, and that passion has shaped my career. I am a dual-qualified Registered Adult Nurse and Mental Health Nurse, holding the Registered Manager’s Award and having completed first-line management training. These qualifications have equipped me to lead with confidence, compassion, and a strong clinical foundation.

I am deeply dedicated to the well-being of both residents and staff. My leadership style is firm but fair, grounded in empathy and open communication. I pride myself on being approachable—my door is always open, whether someone needs support with work or personal matters. I believe in fostering a positive, inclusive environment where everyone feels valued.

As a problem solver and proactive manager, I strive not only to meet standards but to exceed them. I am passionate about delivering high-quality care and creating a culture of trust, respect, and continuous improvement.

Arpitha Pillai

Job Title: Senior (Residential Unit) Joined: 2018

I am Arpitha, a dedicated and approachable care professional primarily responsible for managing the Residential unit and supporting both the manager and the wider care team.

Before entering the care sector, I worked in management roles and hold an MBA, MSC and BCom degree, which has strengthened my ability to lead and support staff effectively, while enhancing my skills in organisation, prioritisation and decision making. Over the years, I have also gained a range of care-related qualifications, including NVQ Level 5 Health and
Safety, Medication Management, Level 3 Education and Training, and Moving and Handling Train-the-Trainer. I am currently completing my NVQ Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification.

Our residential unit, known as ‘Bungalows’ is a warm, welcoming home designed to accommodate up to 16 residents in a comfortable and supportive environment. Each resident enjoys their own private or semi-private living space, promoting independence while still being part of a close-knit community.

Residents are encouraged to live as independently as possible, with staff available to provide assistance and support when needed. Regular social activities, shared meals, and community events foster connection and a sense of belonging, while privacy and personal choice are always respected.

I take great pride in supporting both service users and colleagues to achieve their best. My leadership approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and teamwork, ensuring that everyone feels valued, included, and supported. I am fully committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care. I am dedicated to helping residents maintain their independence,
dignity, comfort, and to ensure that our home remains a safe, welcoming, and happy environment.

I ensure to always create a warm, family-like atmosphere by engaging with residents and staff through laughter and friendly conversation. I enjoy organising and participating in a wide range of activities that help residents stay active, engaged, and fulfilled, from social events to creative and wellbeing sessions.

As a supportive team player and leader, I value the contributions of others and consistently promote a culture of kindness, respect, and teamwork across the home. My goal is to ensure every resident feels cared for, appreciated, and truly part of our community.
