Castlethorpe Nursing Home

My step father George is very happy at Castlethorpe. He says the food is excellent, and the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. He is pleased with the facilities, and overall it is a great environment to be in, he is kept busy during the week with plenty of activities but at weekend finds little to do.

Since my brother went into Castlethorpe for 6-8 weeks respite, he has been looked after very well, his need for solitude is respected but he is also encouraged (and does successfully) to join in the daily activities that are very well organised by the events co-ordinator Danielle. I am very relieved that he can now stay here permanently as he has settled so quickly and is clearly happy here, A huge thankyou to all.

I have known Dorothy for over 20 years, and became involved in her care / well-being in March 2025. Castlethorpe is in my view the most appropriate facility for Dorothy, despite her reservations, she has reluctantly accepted the fact that she will remain in care, and the recent sale of her house confirming this to her. I find the staff and service to be always polite, and in recent months, the level of communication has significantly improved.

As a grandchild of my nana who was in very late stages of dementa and alizemers and sadly lost her battle after been in this care homr for many of years i am so grateful for all the staff so loving so welcoming very supportive even almost a year later i visited and was also very much respected by staff i cannot thank the staff here enough and cannot express how amazing they have been. My friend has settled in nicely over the last 16 months. Likes the food and staff and the peace and quiet. The staff here are helpful and friendly.

My brother has just spent 2 weeks respite at Castlethorpe Nursing Home, very caring staff, nothing is too much trouble for them. All staff are compassionate & have empathy with the service users & their families. Very clean environment, great home cook meals ( my brother's words). It was a pleasure to see such dedication in caring for the service users. I have been into many Nursing Homes/ Care Homes in my capacity as a Domicilary Care Coordinator before retiring & I must say is by far the best I have seen.

So pleased mum has settled well into Castlethorpe, she may not know where she is but all the staff are really caring and all her needs are catered for. It's such a weight off my mind that she's been looked after and always lots going on. She loves having her hair done

Mother has been very settled and happy since moving into the care home. Staff are very friendly, helpful, attentive and professional when looking after my mother. Also everyone in the care home from the management down always have time when family visit to answer any queries we might have. Keep up your brilliant caring.

I would recommend Castlethorpe as I'm happy with the care my parents get. They all do a marvellous job in caring for them.

My mum's not happy that there are no nurses on hand now if she has a medical problem to discuss. She doesn't feel happy discussing medical problems with carers. She is also always complaining to me about the lack of carers and that they don't have a lot of time to spend with her. Several times I've been in on a Saturday morning - I always arrive at 10.30am - and she hasn't had a carer in to wash and dress her!

My Father received excellent care while staying at Castlethorpe Nursing Home. They let us know from the beginning what he needed. His clothes were sorted and hung in his wardrobe before we arrived. It all led to a good feeling about the place. The staff were available to talk to if you asked. They told me what they were doing to help my Dad as much as they could.
