I recently had occasion to visit my aunt at Nether Place. I was initially pleased to note the introduction of a computerised entry/exit system giving an accurate record of persons at any one time. All the staff I met were extremely friendly and welcoming. Of the rooms I visited, all were clean and fresh. The actual nursing care at the home has,in my opinion, never been a problem. However,I have in the past been concerned at the seemingly frequent turnover of staff and occasional difficulty in making contact by phone.I am pleased to say that since the introduction of the new management structure this is no longer a concern. Having spoken to management at the time, I was encouraged by their willingness to make changes to staffing and organisational procedures where required. I continue to be impressed with the activities provided to stimulate and promote the residents mental well-being. In closing I cannot, in all honesty, speak too highly of the home.
Since then we have seen improvements in the organisation of the Home and in the general atmosphere.
The staff have always been very caring and kind. They seem to have responded well to more structure, training and direction. We are grateful for the good care given and for the improved communications.
From the very start the staff were amazing and could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Mum has settled in well because of the caring attitude and friendly chit-chat of the staff. Initially because of a change in management and staffing issues the room cleaning, bin emptying and lack of entertainment/activities left a lot to be desired but this has all improved and the new manager is keen to keep working on improvements.
Thank you for this review, we are constantly striving to do better and we will be introducing a new activities programme in the next month which should be great and I hope that you will see a difference when it is introduced.
The care provided is excellent, it focuses on individual needs and mam and dad have both benefited greatly from this. Mam has dementia and the care and support they have given her has been fantastic. The staff are very kind and always welcoming and approachable when we visit.
Nether Place is very homely, the food is excellent and it is in a lovely location with fantastic views.
Putting our parents into a home was extremely difficult but the staff here made it feel easier than expected.
The food is excellent. The home is clean, comfortable, and warm. The rooms are great with some beautiful views over Keswick.
We were so happy to be able to provide places for both your mum and dad at Nether Place and I am sure that this made the transition into the care home a much easier experience. They are both lovely people who have settled in well and I am sure will enjoy their time with us.
Fantastic staff who always go the extra mile for my mother-in-law and family. They are kind to everyone, we are really happy with the care.
Thank you for this review, all staff at Nether Place do their best to go the extra mile for all residents.
The first assessment was quickly organised and carried out at Mother's house for our convenience. Admission was straightforward and Mother settled in straight away. The location of the home is good, with excellent views. The staff are caring and considerate. Facilities are excellent. Food is very good and supplied at all times of the day. Visitors are always made extremely welcome.
The staff at Nether Place treated our mum with dignity and respect. They gave her so much care at the end of her life and supported us at a difficult time.
Management and staff are always informative, cheerful and helpful, despite doing a difficult job.
My husband is settled and always looks clean and smart.
My wife has been a resident for the past 2 years. The staff are very good. The rooms are very clean. The food is most enjoyable. The visiting times are very good. The staff are most helpful at all times. The care provided is first class.

My experience has been very good overall. Mum was placed at Nether Place under the Mental Health Act. This centre was chosen because of its excellent care ethics. I am above all impressed with the staff. They are indeed very caring and full of empathy for the residents and their families.
We would like to thank you for your recommendations and for this amazing review. Our team of professionals is dedicated to providing the highest standards of care.
I cannot speak too highly regarding the care and love he receives from all who are responsible for his care, which is of the highest possible standard. Nobody 'goes through the motions'. He is a member of the family!
My brother has had to be looked after in one form or another for over 60 years. The standards here far exceed what has gone before. Nether Place should read 'Amazing Place'.
The home is always welcoming and the staff are patient, listen and kind.
Management are always ready to listen and act in a timely manner should the need arise.

I’m very passionate about the job that I do and the quality of individual care that we give to our residents. It’s about making sure that people have what they need. I know how important it is to make sure that people’s care needs are met, socially, physically and psychologically, so that every box is ticked, and it’s done in a lovely way. This means knowing people’s names, asking how they are, talking about what they’ve done in their lives, tapping into their past.
