I can't praise all of the staff at Crick Care Home highly enough. My mother arrived at the home just before Christmas and they made her welcome from day 1. They call her by her first name & she is always smartly dressed. Her room is always clean & tidy. There are lots of activities for my mother to take part in & she enjoys anything to do with music the most. Whenever we visit we are made welcome & the staff have time to answer any questions.

Staff friendly, good communication with staff. Any problems they are dealt with quickly. Loves sitting in the lounge having a sing song. The food is lovely and mum enjoys it. No faults at all.

Crick Care Home is a nursing home. My mother has dementia, and she has lived there for over 2 years. I visit weekly at random days due to my shift work. The staff are always busy tending to the residents when I visit, and seem very caring. My mother is always well dressed, and has tea and cake when I arrive at mid-morning. There is always a couple of TVs or music on. I have often arrived as resident and visitor activities are occurring. Mam always seems very happy.

Mums needs are well catered for she is treated with respect, even when she doesn't appreciate the care being given to her. Many activities are now provided which she can appreciate, despite her dementia.

My dad has been a resident at Crick Care Home for about 14 months, and I am so pleased that he is there, as the staff are wonderful, very respectful, patient and caring. There is always plenty going on to entertain the residents & keep them happy. His room is lovely, clean, bright and well maintained. The lounge is a lovely, busy and homely area, the home has a lovely homely feel to it altogether! Management are also very welcoming, approachable & helpful.

Mum is very well looked after at Crick Care Home. She is always fresh & clean and enjoys having her hair done each week. In recent weeks she has enjoyed the new entertainment schedule. Having activities through the day has really improved her mood, she is much more chatty and engaged when I visit and enjoys talking to me about what she has been doing. Crick is a lovely home for mum & visitors are made to feel very welcome.

From the initial care assessment carried out by Crick and the ongoing care for my wife, I rate Crick as excellent. The premises are spotless, pleasingly decorated and well set out with very pleasant gardens for the frequent use of residents. Crick are proactive in providing activities/events to meet the residents needs and nothing is too much trouble. The quality of care is first class including one to one care when needed. A comprehensive computerised log of daily treatment/events is available on line so that relatives are able to check daily occurrences which is very reassuring. i feel that my wife is in good hands at Crick and all her needs are being looked after in an empathetic and professional way.

Mum arrived at Crick very frail after a long illness. Staff and management made mum feel very welcome and valued and she is looked after in a very caring individual manner. Her care plan is very detailed and updated regularly as her needs change. We have been able with the help of the maintenance man to personalise mums room which is very pleasant clean and free from odour.

Mum enjoys the outside entertainment that comes in regularly. She also had fun joining in activities at the recent garden party. There is always a very welcoming atmosphere and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff. They even bring us chairs to sit near mum and offer us drinks when she is having refreshments. A friendly happy home with a very approachable caring capable staff team who are well trained, knowledgeable, devoted and warm hearted.

The care of my father is exceptional. The team are always available for any updates on Dad, who has been here 6 months. I have just been at a singer session with Dad and the activity lady made sure we were enjoying it all and made us feel as good as if we were at a concert/show. I hope I get as good a care home myself when needed!

My dad has been at Crick Care Home since December 2022, I am more than happy with the care he receives. Staff are friendly and approachable and appear happy, management is also very approachable and the nursing team always take on board any concerns and address them straight away. Since new ownership, it has been very noticeable on changes to the home inside and out. Crick is a beautiful home and it will be lovely to see the continued care and improvements being made.

My mum has vascular dementia and has been resident in Crick Care Home for a couple of years. The care she receives at Crick has led to an improvement in her condition, something we didn’t expect to see. The staff have all been fantastic in the care and attention that they give freely every day, money has been spent on the fabric of the building and interior and I would recommend Crick to anyone needing a residential care home.

Mum reached Crick Care Home direct from hospital where she had been virtually bedridden after a five week stay. She seemed frail. Initially, she remained in her room while assessments were made but after a couple of weeks, she was joining other residents in the lounge and at meal times. Since then she has appeared to gain strength and tells me she is happy with her situation. She certainly seems healthier and also content. When I visit, I always find staff cheerful and helpful.

My father has been a resident at Crick Care Home since December 2022, even though it has only been a few months myself and my family are very happy with the care and service he is being provided with. Crick has a very warm and welcoming feel that is matched by all staff. We are so happy, thank you!

I stayed here at this home during August 2021 approximately 31 days. I found the staff extremely efficient and friendly, very helpful, at all times. They were constantly on call and I found they were always prepared for most of the guests at all times. I would recommend this home at all times and I would definitely use it again. Thanks to management and staff at all times.

Positives: When residents suffer ill-health nursing staff are very thorough and attentive. General standards at the Home are high, staff are caring and considerate.

Negatives: Everyday communication between nursing staff could be improved. The staff could be little more observant with residents who have less obvious disabilities.

Overall it is a very good nursing home which I can recommend for an elderly relative.

Tricia Baillie-HorlerJob Title:Registered ManagerJoined: 2022

I have been at Crick Care Home since 2022 and have over 7 years of experience in the management of care homes.

I assisted in managing my previous English home(s) from a CQC rating of “inadequate/requires improvement” to 'Good' as well as significantly increasing happiness and satisfaction scores among residents/care users.

As a dedicated and determined individual, I saw a new opportunity for an exciting new challenge with Crick where I can make a difference in the lives of others.

As of July 2023, the home changed ownership. The new owners have been amazing in their commitment to investing in the home, with a new lounge, hair salon, upgrades to the rooms' decor, enhanced wifi, and so much more.

If you would like any information on our home or would like to pop in for a chat and a look around, please do get in touch.

We look forward to meeting you.
