Kirkbrae, Galashiels TD1 1NJ
Galashiels Nursing Home provides long-term, short-term and respite care for up to 37 older people, 24 hours a day. Located in large grounds with accessible gardens, the home is dedicated to providing personalised care that allows residents to maintain dignity and individuality, and avoid de-personalisation and institutionalisation, ensuring full physical and psychological potential is reached.
The home offers 18 single bedrooms, nine single en-suite rooms, three double rooms and two double en-suite bedrooms. These can be fully furnished but residents are also welcome to bring their own furniture and memorabilia to personalise their rooms.
Menus at the home offer a wide selection and are changed daily. These can be provided for visitors as well as residents, should family and friends wish to visit at mealtimes, and dietary requirements are catered for. Snacks, fruit and hot beverages are also available, day and night.
Residents can take part in a variety of activities within the home and surrounding area. These are organised by an activities assistant and take into consideration the needs, interests and abilities of each resident. Trips and days out are also offered to residents. Two hairdressers visit the home on a weekly basis and staff are happy to assist residents who wish to continue to use services such as these outside of the home.
