Ashley Court has 50 beautiful single bedrooms all with en-suite facilities. Each bedroom has WiFi, TV, telephone access and a nurse call system, for prompt assistance. The bedrooms are arranged over three floors and each floor has a pantry, kitchen, lounge and other pleasant places to sit and socialise.

On the ground floor, the communal Rose Lounge is at the centre of Ashley Court life, with many activities taking place there as well as in the sunny conservatory, with great views over the city. The garden is also a popular place to sit with a cup of tea, or for activities, weather permitting. Events and activities are hugely enjoyed at Ashley Court and a dedicated team, full calendar and the availability of their own minibus ensures that the level of participation is high.

An excellent Chef and kitchen team offer nutritionally-balanced, freshly prepared meals. The menu changes on a four-weekly cycle and they try to accommodate different tastes and diets as far as possible. Residents choose where to eat. Some people like the privacy of their own room, whilst others enjoy eating together in the dining room, with doors that open out onto the garden.

This has to be one of the best care homes. My mother has been at Ashley Court for 18 months, and the level of care has been outstanding. The staff are outstanding, the rooms are excellent, and the activities are perfect and involving.
Staff are very accessible and inclusive.

Mum spent the last three years of her life at Ashley Court Care Home. She was very well cared for during that period, particularly as she became less mobile and required considerable assistance. I would like to comment, particularly, on her end-of-life care. The staff were really wonderful - they managed
to give us privacy yet attended to Mum in a very caring manner. It takes great skill to help both residents and relatives have such a comforting experience of a loved one's death. It felt like a very natural and peaceful end to a very long, well-lived life.

On our first visit to Ashley Court, we found it reassuring that time was taken to have a conversation that focused on Mum as a person, along with her care needs. It gave us confidence that we had found the home-from-home environment that we wanted. Her room was freshly decorated, and the type of chair
that would ensure she would not be confined to bed was available. Mum has been a resident since August 2022. Although not able to participate in all activities, she has enjoyed being involved when possible. Especially being able to maintain the tradition of a birthday afternoon tea, by family being able to set this up in the garden room. Nursing care and support is excellent, and we are notified of any changes. There is great continuity of staff, everyone is very friendly and welcoming. It is comforting to know Mum is safe, content and well cared for. Delighted to have found such a lovely place where family can spend quality time together.

My father has been a resident for six months now. He needs a high level of care and attention and we are very pleased with the care he receives. The staff are always happy to chat to let you know how he is fairing and very quick to inform you if there is a problem. He is relaxed and contented which

My mother has been a resident at Ashley Court for a year. Since arriving she has had the most excellent care. She is physically challenged due to strokes and was bed bound for many months. The staff and management have been very pro-active in getting her physio and carrying out the programme given for
her. She is now so improved she is able to sit in a special chair supported and go to other areas of the home. It is such a joy. Her personal needs are met with care and compassion too. Overall the nursing care and support she has received has been impeccable. My mother also has dementia to which the staff are sensitive and understanding too. There is always a choice for her whether it is to join in social events/activities or meals. The menus and food are of a high standard. All Staff and Management are all very friendly, approachable and very responsive to requests suggestions or queries. It's a lovely care home, and a comfort to me and my family that she is very well cared for.

My mum has been at Ashley Court for a year now, suffering from Dementia, among other things. The welcome she got was lovely. Her room was freshly renovated and immaculate and her name was on her door, which helped give her a sense of ownership. The nursing care is excellent with the staff being extremely
vigilant to my mum's changing needs and about keeping me informed. The activities team are very encouraging when she is not in the mood to socialise and encourage her to join in the group activities and bus outings as much as possible, which she enjoys and benefits from immensely. I am always made to feel welcome and my opinion is sought regularly. I feel very much in partnership with the staff. There has been a great continuity of staff, which is important to my mum and myself.

My mother moved into Ashley Court in August 2022, and we have nothing but good things to say about the care and support she has received since she moved in. The staff are wonderful, very caring and cater to her needs really well. She has gradually become more involved in the activities and is encouraged
to take part whenever possible. From the first time, we visited Ashley Court and met with one member of staff, we knew this would be the perfect place for Mum. The surroundings are comfortable and well-maintained, and the food is excellent with good choices. Thanks very much for making Mum feel so welcome.

Since Dad has been in Ashley Court, the care and support he receives has been excellent. He is not the most sociable of people but the staff always offer him the opportunity to join in activities, bus trips and so on. We have been able to take him out for birthday lunches, Christmas events, etc with
no difficulty at all, and the staff make this easy for him. Although physically challenged now, and unable to walk or dress himself he is always helped to be as independent as possible and chooses what to wear when to get up, and also his meals. The staff offer solutions to help him stay independent when eating and drinking. The Wi-Fi system was causing problems in his room so a booster system was added to allow him to stay in touch via iPad and iPhone. He is particularly pleased that he can have his whisky every night with his meal, one of his main pleasures, and staff help him get rugby matches on his TV which also has a premium TV package, a plus for him re sport. Cannot praise Ashley Court enough.

My husband has been in Ashley Court for 5 months now. Unfortunately, he suffers from dementia as well as other physical problems. Although his room is very small there is everything there that he needs. He has taken a few weeks to settle and the staff were great with him and I feel he has settled now.
When I ask him about the meals he says they are very good, varied and that they taste great. The staff have been brilliant. They call me to advise me of incidents or if there’s anything they think I should know regarding any aspects of his care. He now calls the staff by their names which makes me think he has settled in now. They are very respectful of residents and family and I feel my husband is in a pleasant and safe environment. I do think that because of the pandemic the residents do not socialise as much which is very sad. Perhaps in the future, there could be sing-alongs or watching films together.

I've already reviewed this care home but just wanted to congratulate them on dealing so sensitively with residents and relatives during Covid. The staff have gone out of their way to facilitate visiting, working within the restrictive guidelines. As an ex infectious diseases nurse, I'm very happy with
the use of PPE and infection control practices at Ashley Court. Communication is excellent as always. Congratulations and thanks to you all for the affectionate care you give my relative.

All Ashley court staff from cleaners, catering, reception, care assist, nurses and management went out of their way, not only to make my Mother’s life more comfortable, but made all the family, including my father, always welcome. They were an inspiration to my mum and us to the latter end. I would

I would recommend this care home as my mum is being so well cared for here. My mum is physically very able but due to dementia, struggles to make sense of the world around her. With all her complex needs taken care of and due to her dementia causing a mental deterioration, they have constant reviews
and change to her care plan. There are lots of activities for mum to take part in and although her attention span is short, she is always encouraged to join in. This care home has a minibus for day trips up to 3 a week which my mum particularly enjoys.

My mother was taken into care following a diagnosis of Dementia as she was unable to take care of herself at home. Despite some initial concerns that being in a care home was akin to being institutionalised, we quickly realised that this was a warm, caring and truly professional environment, the staff
and facilities being second to none and providing the safety, security and stimulation needed with her condition. They actively encourage participation in various supervised activities, both within the home and small supervised groups day trips. Unfortunately, she later suffered a stroke which set her back, restricting her capabilities. However, due to the level of personal care provided by the staff she has since improved and regained sufficient functionality to enable in part and albeit restricted, some participation in the daily events which the care home provides. We are kept informed of her health and wellbeing and on all occasions made to feel most welcome. Highly recommend.

My husband has received the best of care. The staff at the Home have always been very kind, helpful and always come back to me every time I have had any concerns. The food is excellent and my husband's room is kept clean and tidy at all times and is very comfortable. Trips and entertainment are run
regularly. I feel very reassured that I can leave him in excellent hands.

My mum has been twice into Ashley Court, the staff are so professional I have chosen to place my mum on the waiting list for residential care. The management take time to know the resident together with their Family and are very friendly, made my mum and the family feel homely. Further respite has
been planned, and hope it is not too long until my mum is safely placed into Ashley Court.

RGN qualified in 1994, Jo has worked in care homes since 1999 and now holds additional qualifications of a Pg Dip HSc in Advanced Nursing.


Jo returned to Randolph Hill in 2017, as Deputy Manager, after managing a nursing home in New Zealand for 8 years. Jo was promoted to manager in 2019, then Senior Manager in 2021 and is now Care Quality Manager.

Julie Tulloch is our Care Standards Manager. She has been a registered nurse for almost 35 years and is also a registered community nurse and nurse prescriber. For the last 18 years she has worked as a nurse regulator in health and social care, and joined us from her most recent role as an inspector with the Care Inspectorate.


Like everyone at Randolph Hill, Julie’s drive and focus is to make sure that all of the people that we care for receive the best, high quality service that is right for them. Julie firmly believes that people should enjoy living their life to the full in a nursing home and that nursing homes should be at the heart of the community.


Outside of work Julie likes to be active and enjoys walking in our beautiful countryside, gardening and exercising especially dancing related exercise such as Zumba.

Nicole qualified in 2013 as a registered general nurse, since then she has worked in a variety of roles within social staff nurse through to manager, operations and quality roles. Nicole joined Randolph Hill after almost 4 years in a variety of operational and quality based roles for a large care organisation. Her passion is ensuring our homes are the best place to live and work for all who use them.
