My husband has been here since September. During this time he has been cared for excellently. The staff is first class, caring, cheerful and alert to all situations. It is devastating when a loved on needs this level of care, very difficult to come to terms with. I am now relaxed in the knowledge that
he is well cared for in all ways.

My brother was cared for in Fidra for over 3 years, principally because of physical health issues and the need for personal care. During his time there the staff treated him with respect, kindness and dignity. What really made the difference was that staff took time to understand him as the person he
had been before being so unwell, and could tap into his interests with shared banter and laughter. In the few weeks before he died it was particularly difficult for him, and the family. The staff responded to our queries and concerns with patience and professionalism, and worked well with the local community health teams to ensure he could stay in Fidra rather then go through the discomfort and upheaval of a hospital admission. We couldn't have asked for more.
Reply from Brodie Nichol, Director at Fidra House

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We are truly touched to hear your kind words about the care and support your brother received during his time at Fidra. It means a great deal to know that the team were able to provide comfort, dignity and understanding both to him and to your family. Your appreciation will be shared with everyone involved. Best wishes.

Can't recommend Blenham House enough. Our family have been welcomed into their care for the last 3+ years that my dad has been at Blenham House. fantastic team!

The home is always a very clean, cheerful and welcoming environment for it's residents and their families. Specialist staff encourage residents daily participation in a wide variety of stimulating activities including visiting musician performances and daytrips out in their minibus. Staff are kind and
patient in caring for my father who has vascular dementia and always taken an interest in his wellbeing. Whenever he has been unwell the staff take extra time to reassure is of his progress and explain his treatment plan in liaison with the local health care team. Staff are friends not just carers and we are confident that my father feels happy and secure in Muirfield.

My wife, whose memory has failed, moved into Fidra House 5 months ago, and we have been delighted with the care and attention provided for her. The home is well managed and is very well equipped, it has excellent communication, facilities and a delightful garden. The care and nursing staff are well
trained and skilled, and there is a welcoming and friendly atmosphere throughout Fidra House. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff to offer. Her room is clean, well furnished and comfortable, and she has accordingly accepted the transition from home to care without difficulty. A range of activities are provided and notified in advance, including trips and wheelchair adapted buses, musical events and monthly religious services, and my wife, within her limitations, has appreciated participation in these events. My family and I made the right decision in our choice of Fidra House, and we would warmly recommend it to others.

I cannot praise the manager and her staff enough. From the first visit to have a look around to my Dad now being a resident, the friendly, caring and professional staff have reassured me we have made the correct decision to place Dad here. We know he is in safe hands and being treated with dignity and

I would like to say how great Blenham House Care Home is. My Mother moved there in May this year and the difference in my Mum is amazing. She loves all the staff from the manageress to all the nurses, the handymen and the catering staff who make a fuss of her and see to her every need.
She enjoys
all the activities from going out in the bus to the sing songs in the home.
She is looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday in September and is having a party in Blenham House with all her family and friends and all the staff.
We can't thank everyone enough and wouldn't hesitate in recommending Blenham House.

My brother who has special needs has been in Blenham House for over 3 years and staff are genuinely fond of him. He was very seriously ill several times this year. His care was exemplary and he made an excellent recovery. His appetite is very good and he's put weight on. I am always made very welcome
by all staff - we chat and cover many topics. If I cannot visit my brother as often as I would like I am confident he is well looked after. To see him so contented is lovely. I also appreciate he has off days but know staff are kind and caring in their approach. Lastly, their interaction with other residents is very good.

My husband entered Blenham in January. My daughters and I had looked at a number of care homes prior to this date. All very nice and well appointed but it was Blenham which stood out above all the others. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed with smiles from both staff and residents. Our first
impressions were very positive and we came to the conclusion, very quickly, that this was where Ian's needs would be best met. My husband took a little time to settle in but was supported by the kindness, understanding and professionalism of all staff. He enjoys the activities, especially visits from musicians and singers who encourage the residents to sing along with them. The care home liaises closely with the local medical centre and a doctor visits regularly to attend to residents in need of care. The nursing staff are very attentive and always on the look out for any changes which may require further attention. The family and I take comfort in knowing that Ian is being well cared for.

Since my mother came to stay at Fidra back in December 2024, I have found the home to be a very homely place for my mum. The home is in a quiet back drop off the Dirleton road, surrounded with trees and well maintained gardens, and communal areas. The rooms are spacious, with en-suite facilities and
each room has wall mounted T.V's for everyone. Dining areas and lounges are kept clean and tidy and also offer TV, music and various activities everyday. All the staff are very well trained and treat both residents and families alike with dignity and respect showing compassion and always friendly and welcoming. Residents are offered to take part in away days in the minibus on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week. Families have the opportunity to use the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle for private family days out or to attend appointments, which I think is a fantastic asset to the home and residents. Residents can choose meals from a varied nutritional menu each day. I wish I could say more.

I can't praise Randolph Nursing Home enough. My mum has been here for coming on 3 years and they have got such a special relationship with her. They understand her needs and do everything within their power to accommodate her. I love when I see a wee twinke in my mums eye when they come in to see her.
She has dementia and is unable to do anything for herself but they still treat her with the utmost respect. I am in regularly so know this is how they are with her all the time not just when I visit. They are also incredibly supportive of me as this isnt a pleasant experience...for which I will eternally grateful. I sing their praises to everyone who knows me and are involved with my mum.

My mother has been in Randolph Hill Dunblane for 2.5 years and has been given exceptionally good care throughout. Recently, a no-fault situation was resolved by the senior staff with great attention, imagination and care, together with very good communication and involvement of both me and my mother
at all times. My mother is 102, and the nursing care remains at a high level, including taking the trouble to identify medical needs by requesting further tests. The staff continue to encourage my mother to eat, and take her out into the garden in fine weather. They are kind and friendly.
