My sister moved into Homesview early 2026. From initial conversations prior to moving, I knew that we had chosen well. The Manager took time to understand not just my sister's needs but also our needs as a family. Given my sister is in the youngest age bracket, we worried about there being enough stimulation
for her which would help support keeping her mind and body active however, we were pleased to witness the diversity of activities every week and whilst she may not always be fit enough to partake, she is consistently encouraged to do so.
The team are wonderful and whilst we wish to highlight a few team members, this is in no way reflective of a lack of compassion from anyone else, we would like to give special thanks to a few of the team who provide age appropriate banter on a daily basis, lifting my sisters spirits which is heartwarming for both family and friends to see. One of the team frequently goes over and above, both in support of my sister and the families needs Recommend
Reply from Brodie Nichol, Director at HolmesviewThank you so much for your thoughtful feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you felt confident in your choice from the very beginning and that your sister has been well supported since moving in. It's lovely to know she is encouraged and engaged in the activities, and that the team bring such warmth and positivity to her day. Your kind words are truly appreciated by everyone. Best wishes.

Our mother moved to Holmesview in May 2024 at a time when as a family we were really struggling to support her with dementia. We had looked at a number of care homes and the management at Holmesview were so supportive and understanding, which made the decision so much easier. Since moving there she
has struggled to adapt to being cared for and at times can be most challenging. We have nothing but praise and thanks to all the staff at Holmesview. When taking on the responsibility for a loved one, you only wish the best for them and we know that Holmesview provides this. It is accessible, clean, safe and communication with staff is superb. You feel a sense of community and care.
We are sure that if our mother was able to articulate this she would. We cannot fault the care that is provided and we know that we have made the correct decision in choosing this care home.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at HolmesviewThank you so much for your praise for our management and staff. My mum has dementia and has been in Holmesview for a year. All the staff are very kind and friendly and she is well cared for. They take her health and well being very seriously and keep a close eye on her, ensuring she is well nourished. She is seen by a doctor very quickly should the need arise.
It
is a warm and welcoming home. I have every confidence in their care for my mum.
Thank you to everyone there.

Our mother has been a resident of Holmesview for 14 months and we are very happy with the care she receives. The care team and nursing staff take the time to get to know everyone in their care in a very personalised approach. I get regular updates regarding mum's care and health and staff always take
the time to listen and help if I have any queries or concerns. There is a wide range of activities and entertainment so there is always something happening should she want to take part. The rooms and communal areas are decorated to a high standard and are always immaculately clean. My mother speaks very highly of the meals and there is always a few different dishes to choose from. Holmesview has a warm and friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in the front door and I would highly recommend!
Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at HolmesviewThank you very much for your feedback. We felt Holmesview was the right care facility for our relative as there is a homely welcoming feel as soon as you enter the home and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The rooms and public areas are all clean and well maintained with comfortable lounges and dining areas and the standard of food
is excellent.
Our relative has settled in well and has excellent care, both medical and personal and we feel the staff take time to get to know the residents, enjoying trips out in the minibus and into the garden .As we live a considerable distance away it is good to know that she is safe, warm and well looked after.

We can only praise the staff and professional care our friend received in Kirk Lane. From the initial visit and enquiry to the end of life care - everything was done to such a high standard and with compassion and a personal touch. Our friend appreciated the luxurious surroundings, delicious freshly
prepared food and the variety of activities for residents. There is a true family atmosphere with staff covering all roles taking part in the lives of the residents. Our friend thrived in Kirk Lane and as Power of Attorney we were delighted with everything. The high standard of nursing care in the end of life stage demonstrated excellent links with local hospital, GP and Marie Curie support. Thank you to all staff!

Transformative! Within 24hrs of leaving hospital care to this nursing home, my sister in law was visibly improved, health wise, emotionally and overall well being much better. Staff are attentive to needs, care home is beautifully kept inside and out. Rooms are lovely, and sister in law is now eating
all the food given to her. Would have no hesitation in recommending.

From the very beginning, the standards at this care home have been truly exceptional.
Moving my mum from her previous care home was incredibly difficult and emotional, and we were understandably anxious about how she would settle. Any fears we had were quickly put to rest.
Since moving here, my mum
has absolutely excelled. The positive change in her wellbeing, confidence, and overall happiness has been remarkable. It's clear she is not only well cared for, but genuinely supported, encouraged, and treated with dignity and kindness every single day.
The staff have been nothing short of amazing. Their compassion, patience, and professionalism shine through in everything they do. They took the time to really get to know my mum, making the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible for both her and our family.
We are incredibly grateful for the care, dedication, and high standards shown by the entire team.

Mum is absolutely thriving here at Kirk Lane and has been a resident for just over 4 and a half years. She really enjoys all the various activities - especially getting out on the bus, and all the singers etc. who come to perform. All the staff are so helpful and professional, and the new role of hospitality
liaison is working really well, providing another point of contact between the staff and the residents. The kitchen staff make excellent food with a huge variety and the maintenance team are really handy too.

Mum has moved into Kirklane due to having Alzheimer's. From the moment myself and our family brought her in it felt like home. It's not a nursing home it's her home. It feels like home and has beautiful, comforting decor which also resembles her own home. On arrival she had flowers in her room and was
greeting with warmth and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble.
Mum is still settling well in Kirklane, the staff have been kind, patient and kept her busy with lots of activities. She has smiled, laughed, she looks better than she has done in ages.
We can go in and make tea, sit with her and it feels like our home too.
I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. This home has a huge heart. Staff are outstanding, always having fun with the residents.

Kirk Lane staff and facilities first class. Mum really didn't want to be in a care home but her physical condition meant we had no choice. The staff are really lovely and very caring which has made the situation so much easier for all the family. The accommodation is beautiful from the moment you
enter the building to the lounge and dining room and especially Mum's en-suite bedroom. The carers treat Mum like their own granny and the activities staff do their best to keep her pleasantly occupied - she particularly enjoys the bus outings. The maintenance men are always on hand to get her telly going or hang a photo on the wall . The cleaners and laundry staff are lovely and friendly and keep everything spotless. It is very expensive for Mum to be here but for Mum's excellent care and the family's peace of mind , it's worth every penny .Thank you everyone at Kirk Lane .

The manager, Matthew is an exceptional leader of a great team.
The Activities team deliver varied

The home is clean, well presented with a lovely peaceful garden and the seasonal decorations are lovely. The kitchen staff go the extra mile in providing tasty food and treats and extras like amazing birthday cakes.

From the moment my mum stepped through the doors, something changed-she felt safe. We could see it in her face almost instantly. For someone living with dementia, unfamiliar environments can cause confusion, fear, and stress, yet at Kirk Lane she settled more quickly than we ever expected. That immediate
sense of safety was not only comforting for her, but deeply reassuring for us as a family. We finally felt like we had found a place where she would be supported with kindness, patience, and dignity.

Now, almost three years later, we can honestly say that the care at Kirk Lane has been consistently outstanding. It is evident every single day that the staff truly understand the needs of residents living with dementia and complex emotional challenges. They do not simply perform tasks-they care with heart. They listen, they observe, they adapt, and they treat every resident as an individual with their own history, personality, and preferences. My mum is never rushed, never dismissed.

Reply from Brodie Nichol, Director at Kirk LaneThank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. In her 90s my mum is a resident at this home. It really is amazing.
She is well looked after, her room is clean and the staff are excellent.
The staff are courteous and look after my mum in a kind and gentle way.
The management create well thought out initiatives to maintain and improve the high
standard.
One of them is the recently created new role which is Carer and Hospitality Liaison which is being championed and pioneered by Joanne F. This is a multifaceted role but is essentially: 1 Making sure that all the ongoing things that need attended to for the residents are attended. 2 Ensuring that good practice in one area is migrated to other areas, 3 Actively working to make the residents experience in the home as good as is practically, and 4, Encouraging and supporting all the staff in maintaining a professional high standard.
If there is something needing done Joanne can pick up the ball and run with it. If not in her remit she will find whose remit it is. Joanne is doing great!

Kirk Lane has been home to my mum for 16 months now. It is so reassuring to walk into such a pleasant welcoming home. All the staff are amazing, friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Although it was a difficult decision to make for my mum, we couldn't be happier that she is being cared
for so well and this gives us peace of mind.
The addition of the Care Hospitality Liaison member of staff is such an asset to the team. She recently attended A&E with my mum following a fall and stayed with her until I arrived. She makes sure any issues the residents and families have are all addressed and are listened to as well as making sure they are doing things they love to do. To have someone doing this is so helpful over an above the caring staff.
