From the very beginning, the standards at this care home have been truly exceptional.
Moving my mum from her previous care home was incredibly difficult and emotional, and we were understandably anxious about how she would settle. Any fears we had were quickly put to rest.
Since moving here, my mum
has absolutely excelled. The positive change in her wellbeing, confidence, and overall happiness has been remarkable. It's clear she is not only well cared for, but genuinely supported, encouraged, and treated with dignity and kindness every single day.
The staff have been nothing short of amazing. Their compassion, patience, and professionalism shine through in everything they do. They took the time to really get to know my mum, making the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible for both her and our family.
We are incredibly grateful for the care, dedication, and high standards shown by the entire team.
Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Kirk Lane HomeThank you very much for your very kind words and review. It must have been such a difficult time moving your mum and therefore we are delighted that she settled so well with us and there is such a positive change, and that you are so happy with the care and environment. The team will be so pleased to hear this feedback. With best wishes.

Mum is absolutely thriving here at Kirk Lane and has been a resident for just over 4 and a half years. She really enjoys all the various activities - especially getting out on the bus, and all the singers etc. who come to perform. All the staff are so helpful and professional, and the new role of hospitality
liaison is working really well, providing another point of contact between the staff and the residents. The kitchen staff make excellent food with a huge variety and the maintenance team are really handy too.
Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Kirk Lane HomeThank you for your very kind words. It is wonderful to know that your mum is thriving with us and enjoys the variety of activities, and the choice of food. It is also great to hear that you feel the hospitality liaison role is working well as it is important to us to keep a good level of communication. With best wishes.

My family and I would like to thank Matthew and all his professional staff for the kind and loving Care given to my Mother during her stay at Kirk Lane .Her stay being shorter than expected for us all was very enjoyable to her. From her first day through to her final hour she was treated with dignity
and respect.During her stay she was given very professional personal and nursing care, allowing her to enjoy her final months in a very comfortable environment surrounded by very caring people.
Reply from Brodie Nichol, Director at Kirk Lane HomeThank you for your kind and thoughtful message. We're so sorry for your loss, and it means a great deal to know that your mother felt comfortable and well cared for during her time at Kirk Lane. Your words about the team's support and the dignity shown to your mother are deeply appreciated. Best wishes.

Mum has moved into Kirklane due to having Alzheimer's. From the moment myself and our family brought her in it felt like home. It's not a nursing home it's her home. It feels like home and has beautiful, comforting decor which also resembles her own home. On arrival she had flowers in her room and was
greeting with warmth and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble.
Mum is still settling well in Kirklane, the staff have been kind, patient and kept her busy with lots of activities. She has smiled, laughed, she looks better than she has done in ages.
We can go in and make tea, sit with her and it feels like our home too.
I wouldn't want her to be anywhere else. This home has a huge heart. Staff are outstanding, always having fun with the residents.
Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Kirk Lane HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful review and feedback. It is always so heartening to hear that there are many smiles and much laughter! Great to hear that your mum has settled well and it feels like home already. Best wishes,

Kirk Lane staff and facilities first class. Mum really didn't want to be in a care home but her physical condition meant we had no choice. The staff are really lovely and very caring which has made the situation so much easier for all the family. The accommodation is beautiful from the moment you
enter the building to the lounge and dining room and especially Mum's en-suite bedroom. The carers treat Mum like their own granny and the activities staff do their best to keep her pleasantly occupied - she particularly enjoys the bus outings. The maintenance men are always on hand to get her telly going or hang a photo on the wall . The cleaners and laundry staff are lovely and friendly and keep everything spotless. It is very expensive for Mum to be here but for Mum's excellent care and the family's peace of mind , it's worth every penny .Thank you everyone at Kirk Lane .

My mother has been a resident at Kirk Lane for over three years and is treated with kindness, respect and dignity by all the carers and all other staff. Her needs are met promptly and with a smile.
The manager, Matthew is an exceptional leader of a great team.
The Activities team deliver varied
and interesting social events and always with a smile or a joke. The nurses provide thoughtful and gentle care and always keep me informed of any healthcare issues.
The home is clean, well presented with a lovely peaceful garden and the seasonal decorations are lovely. The kitchen staff go the extra mile in providing tasty food and treats and extras like amazing birthday cakes.
Mum is settled and content here.

From the moment my mum stepped through the doors, something changed-she felt safe. We could see it in her face almost instantly. For someone living with dementia, unfamiliar environments can cause confusion, fear, and stress, yet at Kirk Lane she settled more quickly than we ever expected. That immediate
sense of safety was not only comforting for her, but deeply reassuring for us as a family. We finally felt like we had found a place where she would be supported with kindness, patience, and dignity.

Now, almost three years later, we can honestly say that the care at Kirk Lane has been consistently outstanding. It is evident every single day that the staff truly understand the needs of residents living with dementia and complex emotional challenges. They do not simply perform tasks-they care with heart. They listen, they observe, they adapt, and they treat every resident as an individual with their own history, personality, and preferences. My mum is never rushed, never dismissed.

Reply from Brodie Nichol, Director at Kirk Lane HomeThank you so much for your heartfelt feedback. In her 90s my mum is a resident at this home. It really is amazing.
She is well looked after, her room is clean and the staff are excellent.
The staff are courteous and look after my mum in a kind and gentle way.
The management create well thought out initiatives to maintain and improve the high
standard.
One of them is the recently created new role which is Carer and Hospitality Liaison which is being championed and pioneered by Joanne F. This is a multifaceted role but is essentially: 1 Making sure that all the ongoing things that need attended to for the residents are attended. 2 Ensuring that good practice in one area is migrated to other areas, 3 Actively working to make the residents experience in the home as good as is practically, and 4, Encouraging and supporting all the staff in maintaining a professional high standard.
If there is something needing done Joanne can pick up the ball and run with it. If not in her remit she will find whose remit it is. Joanne is doing great!
Reply from Julie Kennedy, Marketing Manager at Kirk Lane HomeIt is so good to hear that you feel that your mum is so well looked after. Kirk Lane has been home to my mum for 16 months now. It is so reassuring to walk into such a pleasant welcoming home. All the staff are amazing, friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Although it was a difficult decision to make for my mum, we couldn't be happier that she is being cared
for so well and this gives us peace of mind.
The addition of the Care Hospitality Liaison member of staff is such an asset to the team. She recently attended A&E with my mum following a fall and stayed with her until I arrived. She makes sure any issues the residents and families have are all addressed and are listened to as well as making sure they are doing things they love to do. To have someone doing this is so helpful over an above the caring staff.

As a social worker, I visit many care homes on a regular basis in Glasgow.
In all honesty, I have to say that Kirk Lane is one of the nicest I have been in. All the staff were extremely helpful & very professional. They went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed & answered all questions
without hesitation. The home itself is exemplary, and it is clear that the residents are all well cared for.

My husband has been cared for in Kirk Lane Nursing Home for two and a half years. The care is of the highest standard and I feel the staff care for him in a loving way - not just doing things in a dutiful way. This makes me feel at ease with him having to be looked after 24/7 as opposed to me struggling
on my own. The manager said "this is your home too" so I can visit any time, help with his care if I want to and receive emotional support when I need it. Overall, the best decision I've made regarding his care.

My mum has been living at Kirk Lane for almost 3 years and receives excellent care. The home is lovely with a very homely feel and several small dining rooms and lounges for each floor. From the moment you walk in everyone is so friendly and helpful and nothing is a bother to them. The nursing team
and carers are excellent and I feel so reassured that my Mum is being very well cared for by all of them. The reception team are so friendly and helpful as are the maintenance team. The kitchen team are also very friendly and recently made my Mum a most beautiful cake for her birthday. I often visit with my young children and they are always made to feel so welcome and fussed over. The garden area is a great wee haven and so well maintained. The activities team are fantastic they're always so patient, up beat and full of fun. The regular mini bus trips are also great. My mum has dementia and it's such a huge relief to know she's happy, settled, very well cared for & with people around her.

The staff are mostly very good and keep me apprised of how my Dad is doing. We try and see him on a weekly basis. There have been times when Dad was not wearing his hearing aids and some have gone missing. Hopefully moving forward, staff can keep better track of where Dad's hearing aids are (sometimes
he puts them in his pocket). On the main a great service.

March 2025 marked three years since my mum moved into Kirklane Nursing Home, and I couldn't be happier with our decision. The moment you step into the entrance, which has a lovely hotel-like feel, you immediately sense a warm and welcoming atmosphere. My mum's room is consistently bright, airy, and
clean, contributing to her comfort.
The staff are outstanding. Both the carers and nursing team are incredibly attentive and responsive; truly, nothing is too much trouble for them. I particularly value how well I'm kept up to date on my mum's condition, giving me peace of mind that she is always in safe and capable hands. As her condition has progressed, the Kirklane team has shown remarkable flexibility and proactivity, keen to adapt their systems to provide the best possible care for her evolving needs.
The activity coordinators are fantastic. A special mention goes to one staff member in particular who established an early and strong connection with my mum, ensuring she always feels included, we love her!

The staff team at Kirk Lane are wonderful. My father in law has been a resident for more than three years now and so many of the staff have been here for all of that time and treat him as if he were a member of their family which means so much to us. The facilities at Kirk Lane are excellent too and
we love the terrace upstairs now that my FIL is less able to visit the garden (which he has always enjoyed). Highly recommended.

Staff are really friendly (like a new family), approachable, attentive, professional and get the impression that nothing is too much.
There are plenty of activities during each week, including use of coach to take regular trips out which my Mum enjoys.
Witnessed the use of the function room that had
a small orchestra playing delightful music. Also can be used as a cinema room and other activities.
Maintained garden with path and benches is relaxing and peaceful.
Like all aspects of this nursing home, the spacious bedrooms are of high standard and we could add our own furniture and pictures (Maintenance Team were really helpful in hanging up pictures, which was a welcome surprise).
In summary, a place that gives me peace of mind for my Mum's health, wellbeing and comfort. This nursing home should be the benchmark for all nursing homes, and if someday I had to be looked after, then I would want to move here.
Thank you to all at Kirk Lane for all that you do.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 24 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
