The staff team at Kirk Lane are wonderful. My father in law has been a resident for more than three years now and so many of the staff have been here for all of that time and treat him as if he were a member of their family which means so much to us. The facilities at Kirk Lane are excellent too and we love the terrace upstairs now that my FIL is less able to visit the garden (which he has always enjoyed). Highly recommended.
Thank you for your feedback and complimenting the team. They will be so pleased to hear your feedback - and also that you are so happy with the facilities especially the terrace for your father in law. Best wishes,
There are plenty of activities during each week, including use of coach to take regular trips out which my Mum enjoys.
Witnessed the use of the function room that had a small orchestra playing delightful music. Also can be used as a cinema room and other activities.
Maintained garden with path and benches is relaxing and peaceful.
Like all aspects of this nursing home, the spacious bedrooms are of high standard and we could add our own furniture and pictures (Maintenance Team were really helpful in hanging up pictures, which was a welcome surprise).
In summary, a place that gives me peace of mind for my Mum's health, wellbeing and comfort. This nursing home should be the benchmark for all nursing homes, and if someday I had to be looked after, then I would want to move here.
Thank you to all at Kirk Lane for all that you do.
Thank you very much for your lovely feedback. The team will be delighted to hear that you are so pleased with the care and facilities, and you have such peace of mind for your mum's health, wellbeing and comfort.
It's such a joy when you enter Kirk Lane from Reception onwards. The staff treats residents and visitors as part of a big family. The manager and all staff are incredible for the care and attention they give to the needs of each resident. The rooms are bright and comfortable with en suite. The garden is a haven for peace and tranquillity but also for the great activities it provides. Words can't describe how happy and appreciative our family feels to have our dear one is such a lovely place.
It is so delightful to hear how you feel about the atmosphere and care at Kirk Lane. Our intention is to make everyone feel welcome and included therefore thank you for sharing your feedback.
Kirk Lane is a nursing home like no other. It is headed by a management team who are forward-thinking and vibrant with an exciting agenda. The residents are offered the usual activities along with more cultural events. At 87 years I have spent my adult life wanting to play chess and after a few months in Kirk Lane I enjoy a regular game. The gardens are beautiful. It is so peaceful and the gentle movement of the water filter for the fish pond (which the 2 maintenance gents built) is very relaxing. There is always a buzz around the home. There are so many sections at work - nursing and care staff, kitchen and laundry, and activities who really have come into their own along with reception, hairdressing and administration. Inclusion is the operative word. When clients come into the home for respite everyone goes that extra mile to ensure their stay is enjoyable. I am settled at Kirk Lane and the quality of the care takes the pressure off my family and I know I will be looked after.
We are delighted to hear your review, and that you feel settled and well cared for. All teams work so hard to create new activities and an upbeat environment where people thrive and are all included. It is good to know that you are enjoying and benefiting from all of this. Well done and good luck with the chess!
This is an outstanding nursing home in every way. My mother was cared for after 18 months and absolutely thrived after almost passing away in hospital from the deadly RSV virus. Particular mention must be made with three key points - 1- Consistently outstanding staff. 2- Excellent and carefully tailored nutrition. 3- Outstanding condition looked after by skilled maintenance team.
Thank you very much for leaving Kirk Lane such a glowing review and noting three stand-out points. I will share this with the team. They will be so pleased to hear this feedback about the care for your mother.
Overall Kirk Lane Home is a superb facility with top quality staff in all departments. A particular mention must be made to the maintenance team who keep the facility and gardens in outstanding condition, all year long.
Thank you very much for your feedback, particularly for the maintenance team who have made the final selection for a Scottish Care Home award. Great too to hear that you are impressed with the overall facility - we will happily share this with the team.
My dad was a resident for 15 months and received outstanding care during this time. There was a noticeable improvement in his condition when he moved in and I had peace of mind that he was being well cared for in a safe environment. The staff are amazing and genuinely appear to love what they do. We had frequent review meetings and my dad and I always felt listened to and that our feedback was actioned. There is a great selection of food with tea and cakes served between meals. I was always offered treats and encouraged to help myself from the kitchen. The homemade birthday cakes are a lovely touch and of course delicious! The activities team do an amazing job making sure there is something for everyone. There are plenty of bus trips and excursions, regular visits from therapy animals, and plenty of outside events in the garden during the summer. I highly recommend Kirk Lane and can’t thank the staff enough for taking such exceptional care of my dad.
It is so pleasing to hear that you noticed an improvement in your dad's condition when he moved in with us and that you felt he was so well cared for. The staff are indeed very passionate about their work and love to make all welcome and provide good food, treats, and a variety of activities, so we thank you so very much for this recognition and for leaving this feedback.
I am the daughter of a resident. I would like to say that since Mum came here in September last year, she has loved every minute. My sister and I feel so much better that Mum is getting such wonderful care, from wonderful people. Thank you all.
Thank you very much for your review regarding the care your mum has received with us since last September. We are delighted that your mum is enjoying her new home, and that you and your sister are also feeling so pleased.
Wonderful home with an excellent level of care. The activity program here is wonderful with many varied levels for all resident's capabilities. The rooms are well-equipped to meet the individual needs. The carers within the home are so nice and Mum adores them. They go over and above for the residents. Day trips are offered most weeks for those wanting a day out. There are often entertainment days with singers etc, which the residents love. BBQ's are a thing Mum loves and this happens often. Overall, excellent place.
Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback regarding the care for your mum. It's great too that you have highlighted the activities. The team work so hard to offer variety and inclusivity and we are delighted that your mum enjoys this.
I was in respite recently and found everyone very helpful. The manager checked in with me regularly as did all his staff. They couldn't have been more helpful and I appreciated the level of dignity and respect they afforded me. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone. A very pleasant place to stay.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave a review regarding your stay with us. We are delighted that you felt very well looked after and that you would recommend us.
Gives me such pleasure walking into mums room in Kirk Lane Home and seeing the care that has been taken to keep it nice. Gives me a great feeling knowing she is in the right place, chosen by my brother and myself. Credit to the manager and staff at Kirk Lane Home, who always go above and beyond. Thank you for being there for Mum and our family.
Thank you very much for leaving your feedback. It gives us great pleasure too knowing that you are so happy with the care and facilities provided for your mum.
Over the past month, my mother's health has been poorly and she has had problems eating and had a chest infection. During this period, the care staff, nursing staff and local GP have been excellent in providing the excellent care and support that my mum was requiring. Her health, at 93, will not improve, however, the home have just put in a new bed to stop my mum from getting bed sores and I was exceptionally pleased that they have done this to provide more excellent care for Mum.
Thank you very much for your feedback which we will be so pleased to share with the team. It is so good to hear that you are happy with the care and the facilities provided for your mother.
I have found Kirk Lane Nursing Home to be the best in the area. I was looking for a home for my mum last year and was so glad to find this home. The management and staff have been so good with Mum and she has settled well. Couldn't be happier with the care.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so pleased that your mum has settled well and you are so happy with her care.
Choosing a nursing home for my father was a bit of a daunting experience, as we hadn't had to do anything like this before, however, as soon as I visited Kirk Lane Nursing Home, it just felt right. The building is new and both the interior and exterior are immaculate. The rooms are spacious and well equipped, with lovely en-suite facilities in every room. The secure enclosed gardens offer facilities to enjoy a BBQ or just to sit enjoying the surroundings and fresh air. Great facilities are good and well, however, the calibre of staff is the main thing which makes this home outstanding. All the staff are so friendly and engaging, both with residents and visitors. Having the ability to visit at any time means that it wouldn't be possible to project a front just at visiting time. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone looking for a home from home for their loved ones.
We understand just how daunting the experience can be to choose a nursing home and we are therefore so pleased that you found the support and facilities that you need for your father. Thank you for your wonderful feedback; the staff will be delighted to hear. We have been so fortunate too with the weather and are often able to use the bbq area.
My aunt moved into Kirk Lane in December 2021. The whole family were delighted with the quality of facilities and impressed by the decor and amenities of this new build facility. My aunt was delighted to have an en-suite shower room, which allows her some independence with bathing and the quality of fixtures and fittings is second to none. Underfloor heating and fluffy towels are a lovely touch. The staff are all delightful and very upbeat and positive people who clearly enjoy working at Kirk Lane. My aunt was assured from the outset that Kirk Lane was to be her home and everyone has made sure she feels absolutely at home there. There are so many positives to mention - movie nights, delicious home baking, barbecues, daily exercise classes and regular bus outings are a few of the noteworthy extra touches that make Kirk Lane really feel like a home. The management are superb and offer families regular opportunities to engage with Randolph Hill and welcome feedback. We are delighted!
We really appreciate you taking the time to leave a response which we have shared with the team. It is so good to hear that your aunt and family have been so pleased with the building, facilities and activities. So reassuring too that you feel that your aunt settled in well, is well cared for and everything feels like home.
I now have both my parents in this wonderful home. The staff are amazing. The manager is wonderful. I have never met someone so suited to their job. He always takes time with the residents, stops and chats to them every time he passes and goes all out to do what he can for them. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. Wonderful nursing home.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review and, in particular, praising the manager. We are delighted that you are so pleased and we have shared this feedback with the team.
Massive thanks to all staff including management, nurses and carers for the kind, professional and caring support given to my mum during her stay at Kirk Lane Nursing Home. On top of that, the spacious luxurious accommodation with its beautiful and secure landscape gardens were just perfect. Sadly, Mum spent less time with you than we had all hoped for but I can't thank everyone enough for the way my mum was looked after, not forgetting the kindness and support offered to myself during this difficult period. I honestly could not have wished for more.
Thank you very much for your feedback. The team at Kirk Lane will be so pleased to hear that you were so happy with the high level of care and facilities provided to your mum. We are sorry that your mum was only with us for a short time but comforted to know that both you and she felt well supported.
Care staff are excellent and treat everyone well. Uncle is always well dressed in matching outfits and clothes are very well laundered. Perhaps due to COVID regulations but only a minor issue, is visitors having to phone to arrange appointments to visit and wait until reception staff are free to escort to the resident's room. It would be nice if visitors were able to access the coffee matching and other facilities.
Many thanks for your feedback regarding the excellent care your uncle receives. With reference to visiting, we are following Government guidelines which are changing all of the time and hopefully there will be further lifting of restrictions soon.
I have waited nearly 4 months to submit my review so that I can give an honest review of my experience. I spent a lot of time researching and visiting numerous homes as I wanted to find the right place for my mum who has advanced dementia. Initially, I was a little apprehensive as the home was relatively new so there was little feedback/reviews to read so I visited twice to view the facilities and on both occasions was made to feel very welcome. 4 months on and I am absolutely convinced Kirk Lane was the right decision for Mum, myself and our family. The staff are extremely caring and so friendly and I know Mum is in very safe hands and is very well looked after. Little touches make all the difference - Mum's first great-grandchild was born at Xmas and unbeknown to us until we visited, a staff member had a photo of the baby printed out and framed and placed by Mum's bed so she could see him - we were so touched by that. Mum is properly cared for in a wonderful caring environment.
We are so grateful that you have taken the time to leave a review. So pleased to hear that you, your mum and your family are happy with the care and the environment.
My gran was the second resident into this absolutely stunning care facility. Even before she was in Kirk Lane the staff were going above and beyond to ensure her care needs were met and put in place and that we, as a family, were completely satisfied before she moved in. Unfortunately, she has dementia, however, she is fully accommodated for, and everything from her personal needs to her health and wellbeing is looked after. The chef even makes food to order for the residents which is fabulous for people such as my gran who are quite specific about the food they eat and how things are cooked. Every need is considered. I could not recommend Kirk Lane highly enough to anybody who needs full-time caring. The staff are wonderful and really know how to build lovely, trusting, and caring relationships with not only the residents but their families too.
Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback that will be shared with the team. It is a pleasure welcoming new residents and getting to know families. We are delighted that you are so pleased with your gran's care at Kirk Lane - and so lovely that she is enjoying her meals!
