A range of activities are provided and notified in advance, including trips and wheelchair adapted buses, musical events and monthly religious services, and my wife, within her limitations, has appreciated participation in these events. My family and I made the right decision in our choice of Fidra House, and we would warmly recommend it to others.

All the staff are very well trained and treat both residents and families alike with dignity and respect showing compassion and always friendly and welcoming. Residents are offered to take part in away days in the minibus on a weekly basis, sometimes twice a week. Families have the opportunity to use the Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle for private family days out or to attend appointments, which I think is a fantastic asset to the home and residents. Residents can choose meals from a varied nutritional menu each day. I wish I could say more.

for in the home. I cannot fault the care she is getting. All the staff do a first rate job, in addition keeping me advised of her medical needs when they change, which can be daily. I cannot find fault with this Home knowing that my wife is being very well cared for in a safe, comfortable environment.

Mum particularly loves the activities and we are always notified of anything she participates in and communication between the home and the family is fantastic. The senior staff always make sure we are involved in any aspect of mums care and keep us updated with anything that's going on. Mum unfortunately became very poorly latter end of last year and thanks to the staffs quick thinking and response she was admitted to hospital where she stayed for 6 weeks before going back home to Fidra. It was so lovely to see all the staff welcoming her back and as family we are so grateful to them. Working as a nurse myself it's reassuring to know mum is being looked after with care and compassion.

and their dog! Again we were made to feel very welcome and as there were so many of us, we were given the "quite room" - although not very quiet with the children! Everyone was very welcoming and we were given tea and coffee and some treats for the children. The atmosphere at Fidra is always friendly, welcoming and as homelike as they can make it.

I was given a thorough demonstration by a member of staff who went over and above to make me feel confident to take my father in law for his first outing in the car, albeit a short journey but one so worth while to be able to attend a charity Christmas lunch. A charity very close to his heart whom he had been the foundation for many years. Attending this occasion lifted his spirits and was reunited with many of his fellow volunteers. The whole experience was uplifting. The day to day care of my father in law and visits we have to him at the home are always a happy and homely experience. The staff are amazing, couldn't ask for better for my beloved family member.
