The conservatory on the ground floor has a door out into the garden – always a popular place to sit with a cup of tea, or for gardening activities when weather permits.
Events and activities are hugely enjoyed at Blenham House and the dedicated team, full calendar and the availability of their own minibus ensures that the level of participation is high.
An excellent Chef and kitchen team offer nutritionally-balanced, freshly prepared meals. The menu changes on a four-weekly cycle and they try to accommodate different tastes and diets as far as possible. Residents choose where to eat. Some people like the privacy of their own room, whilst others enjoy eating together in the dining room.

The management and staff held an afternoon in the garden, for the residents and their families, during the Festival month, called Care in the Fringe, which is sponsored by several companies. The planning and precision that went into the whole afternoon was like a military operation with all hands on deck, to get around 60 residents in the garden, by several means, I watched in awe as they pulled this off and gave everyone such a lovely afternoon with refreshments and a bbq, followed by a Latin American duo playing music and singing songs. The residents and their families looked like they all enjoyed it and I know my mum did. The care shown to all involved is so evident when you see the staff mingling and dealing with situations. Thanks so much for all your efforts. A great team you have!! My mum has settled in well since March and delighted I had known about Blenham before I ever knew i would be needing them.

My husband entered Blenham in January. My daughters and I had looked at a number of care homes prior to this date. All very nice and well appointed but it was Blenham which stood out above all the others. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed with smiles from both staff and residents. Our first impressions were very positive and we came to the conclusion, very quickly, that this was where Ian's needs would be best met. My husband took a little time to settle in but was supported by the kindness, understanding and professionalism of all staff. He enjoys the activities, especially visits from musicians and singers who encourage the residents to sing along with them. The care home liaises closely with the local medical centre and a doctor visits regularly to attend to residents in need of care. The nursing staff are very attentive and always on the look out for any changes which may require further attention. The family and I take comfort in knowing that Ian is being well cared for.

I came to Blenham House in 2007 when it was newly opened. It has been a challenge and somewhat of a labour of love to have helped shape it into what we have today – something that would have been impossible without the dedication and hard work of our great staff. I hope (and know) that our Residents and their families feel that this is their home. We try very hard to respect the choices of individuals, which leads to quite a diverse little community here. I know I am doing my job well when I can see lots of smiling faces – both Residents and Staff!
