Firstly to my knowledge my mother has had the best care and this has comforted me knowing she now has terminal cancer. I would like to point out that there has been a major issue which I feel anybody who have a family member in Hill view needs to be aware of. If any family allows their loved one to
be in Hill view and the family has major disputes within their family then steps need to be taken to make sure each member of kin is put down on any medical records and also with the care home. It has pained us that we have had to go above Hillview to their bosses to have me put down as next of kin to get any information about my mother condition. I am distraught that 6 days after my mother was admitted to hospital I found out from a third party she was in there. I don't want any other family to suffer the anguish we have dealt with and would advise any problems with any homes to be taken to their bosses...firstly the council they are under and if no joy there you go above them .

Dad has been in Hill View for 18 months, the level of care he receives is amazing. The team there are all absolutely brilliant with Dad and all other residents. The manager and deputy manager lead by example and this follows through all staff.
Residents have a "house mother" who helps get them up,
arranges games, gets them making cakes and pizzas, chopping and peeling veg, all keeping their skill sets alive. I'm so glad Dad is in here, and I never want it to change.
On cleanliness side, you walk in and it NEVER EVER smells of wee or nasty smells. All rooms are kept immaculately clean, beds are changed nearly every day, and if residents dirty or soil, this is dealt with immediately.
Would highly recommend.
Only two downsides; one is they don't have a garden and two; parking is difficult, this is why I've given just good for facilities.
All doors are secure and coded for in and out.

My father was one of the first residents admitted to Hill View Care Home, from the outset the care my father has received at the home is excellent in every way, the home is clean, the team are friendly and supportive, the management team is approachable and extremely competent.
They have my gratitude
for the way they look after my Dad.

My Dad spent the last year of his life at Hill View Care Home. The care he received was of an excellent standard. He was treated with love and respect at all times. Every member of staff went above and beyond to make my Dad comfortable and happy. This care was also given to my family, especially during
our sad times. The home was immaculate. The manager and staff always made time to listen to any queries we had. Meals were varied with plenty of options. Drinks and snacks were available night and day. Thank you Hill View.

The manager and staff male member couldn't do more to make my dad's stay any more comfortable. The care they extended to my siblings and myself was above and beyond what I expected. In all the time my dad spent there he was happy. The manager always exceeded my expectations. The last few weeks of dads
life I felt he was being given the best carer he could receive. The care and love shown to us all as a family in the last few days were outstanding.

From the moment the manager met my father at my home in approximately May 2017, we have been shown nothing but care, courtesy and respect. My father has gone there with many illnesses he has had the absolute highest standard of care we could wish for. We are able to visit at any time of day or night
and are always made welcome. He is coming to the end of his time with us now and the care has got even better, if that is possible, with a community team coming in to give extra help where it is needed. The food is lovely and that's from my dad who is a fussy eater. There are daily activities and a weekly visit from a hairdresser there is also a chiropodist who visits on a regular basis. His room is comfortable and can be made personal with as many of his own things as we want. The staff here are second to none and I can not thank the manager and male nurse enough along with the rest of the team.

Our mother has recently moved into Hillview. Initially, she was assessed at home by the manager who explained everything to us and answered all our questions and concerns. She left us feeling reassured and encouraged us to visit the home.

It is a beautiful house that has been converted to a high standard. All bedrooms are different and have ensuite facilities. The communal lounge is comfortable and well designed. Overall everywhere is spotlessly clean.

The atmosphere created by all staff is friendly and caring. Nothing seems too much trouble and everyone is treated with dignity and respect. When visiting our mother we are welcomed by all and know we can visit any time we choose. Last but not least our mother feels happy, safe and secure!

I was dreading my lovely dad going into a care home. The manager assessed dad at home and he took to her straight away and so did we.
When we went to view the home, it looked fantastic it's so bright and cheerful the way it's decorated. Spotlessly clean. You can't go by looks as we all know. The carers
are the most important people. Well, there's no problem there. They are all so very kind helpful and always cheerful.
Residents can stay in bed in the mornings if they want to. There are lovely games and activities going on throughout the day which family can participate in and it's fun. Also, a doctor calls once a week.
I feel so lucky to find a place that my dad is happy in.
I think we have struck gold with this care home.

Current Review Score: 7.6 (7.564)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.6 (7.564) out of 10 for Hill View Care Home Ltd is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.417 for Hill View Care Home Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (8 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 4.417
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.147 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Hill View Care Home Ltd is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.147
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
