Mum moved into Marigold House in April this year, but sadly passed away Sunday 10th August at Marigold House. The care she received throughout her stay was great and the facilities are excellent, but the kindness, compassion and care that was given to mum and offered to every member of her family in
the last few weeks of her life was more than words can describe and will always be eternally grateful to all the staff for everything they have done for mum whilst she was in their care.

Overall, we are happy with Marigold's care and support. Care staff are all very kind and do their best for mum, even though she stays in her room most of the time. Do not see much of managerial staff, but I imagine they are around if we have any problems.

Mum moved into Marigold House in April 2025. Her room is beautiful, nicely decorated with an en-suite shower/facilities. This is my first review, and at this time, I am very happy with her care and the facilities that are available to her and the residents.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.847)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.847) out of 10 for Marigold House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.771 for Marigold House is calculated as follows: ( (56 Excellents x 5) + (12 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.771
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.076 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Marigold House is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.476
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Reception Administrator Joined: 2025

Hi There,
My name is Sandra and I am the receptionist/administrator here at Marigold House.
I have been here since March 2025 after working for over 25 years in Human Resources and Data Protection within the hospitality industry.
I bring many years of experience in customer service and administration and have a genuine passion for helping and supporting people and have a compassionate approach. This has enabled me to settle in well at Marigold House, as the receptionist here I enjoy creating a warm and welcoming environment for our residents, families, and visitors and building a friendly rapport with everyone. I am always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.
Although my duties keep me mainly in reception, getting to know our residents is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Whether it’s learning about their families or hearing stories from their past, I enjoy taking the time to build genuine connections.
Working at Marigold House means being part of a team that truly cares—not just for our residents, but for each other. Every team member plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and happy environment. Whether providing hands-on care, preparing meals, or greeting visitors at the front desk, we all share the same goal: to make a positive difference in the lives of those we care for and I am proud to say I am one of the team.

Hi, my name is Lauren. I am part of the Enrichment Team at Marigold House. I have always wanted to be in a job that involves making people smile. When I found that Marigold House advertised for an Activities Coordinator, I immediately jumped to apply. I had been in a similar role for the previous year in another company, but this looked amazing, and I was lucky enough to be offered the opportunity to work with a great team of people and a fantastic bunch of fun-loving residents to entertain!

I love that every day is different in Marigold. One day, we are knee deep in glue and paint, and then another day, we're off on a trip out for an afternoon of dancing! I am always finding new ways to enrich our residents' lives, from making up silly games or just a quiet time to have a chat and quiet time to reflect.

I always say it doesn’t matter what age you are, what disability you have, there is always a way to have fun, and I believe the Enrichment team here at Marigold do that, and they go home every day knowing that everyone had a smile on their face!

Hi my name is Victoria.
I am a Care Assistant here at Marigold House. I have been part of the Marigold team since January 2025. I started working in care during Covid and even though these were stressful times for all, I was grateful to be there to look after vulnerable people and put smiles on their faces during these difficult times. I then moved on to work in the Prison Service however I found that I thoroughly missed caring for the elderly. I decided to go back into care and I certainly don’t regret my decision. Marigold House is completely different to any other home I have worked in. From walking in at the start of my shift to walking out at the end I feel happy and valued. The staff go above and beyond for the residents which is just so lovely to see. I am beyond grateful to be part of the Marigold family.

I began working in care at the age of 16, and it has been my passion ever since. From the very start, I’ve loved the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a care home and the privilege of supporting those who are vulnerable. What I enjoy most is the sociable side of the role, whether it’s sharing conversations with residents or working alongside such kind and caring colleagues. Everyone is so friendly and a joy to be around, which makes every day rewarding. Marigold is a truly special place to me, one of the best homes I’ve had the pleasure of working in, with staff who are not only professional but also wonderfully warm and welcoming.
