It's so lovely to hear how your dad has settled in and that the team have found ways to connect with the things he enjoys - especially his gardening and walking. The music, nursery visits and Therapet are all such a big part of life here, and it's wonderful to know he enjoys them.

Dad has been a resident at Glencorse Care home since April 26 and his care has been first class in every respect . As a family it has been a total relief that Dad is being cared for much better than we were managing at home , he's settled and comfortable, with all his needs being met . The nursing staff listen to concerns and act promptly to find solutions, the carers are always smiling and helpful . Dad really enjoys the food, the menu always sounds lovely. Our only regret is he is no longer really able to enjoy the fantastic facilities and varied entertainment programme laid on.

My wife Audrey has just taken up residence in Glencorse Care Home. She had 2 weeks respite care earlier in the year. The home itself is virtually brand new and really can't be faulted. As the numbers of residents grows so do staff numbers and to date management seem to be managing to recruit new caring efect staff in all posts. Long may this continue. Being self funded it does seem to be a great deal of fees to be paid. That was my choice of home.

Finding the right home for a loved one is not easy, especially when they have lived in their own home for 90 years and value their independence. When we visited Glencorse Care Home it just felt like this was the place they would be well cared for and enjoy what the home do to keep everyone mentally & physically active. It is a purpose built care home and new. The room is lovely. The layout of the home well thought out, with social spaces (including dining) on each floor, with a wonderful cinema on the ground floor. All the staff have been so helpful and friendly, there is a real sense they want to get to know each of the residents personally and do all they can to make them feel at home.

My Dad moved into Glencorse Care Home in November 2025, after 2 months in hospital. I had visited several homes in preparation, to find out what was on offer. Initially, another home had been my first choice, on the basis of facilities, activities and a sense of homeliness. I was then made aware of a brand new home at Glencorse. What could be better than a brand new home with excellent facilities, including its own cinema room, where the residents can watch films of their choice. I then discovered that the new manager of Glencorse had been the manager at the other home. This made the decision easier. So far, Dad has been well looked after and has improved both physically and mentally due to the care, attention and stimulation he has received.

She began her career in the transplant unit at the Royal Infirmary before moving into the private sector, where she developed both her clinical expertise and people management skills as a Deputy Manager, playing a key role in commissioning a brand-new care home. She later completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Person-Centred Practice, focusing on advancing practice through clinical assessment and prescribing, as part of the NHS Specialist Practitioner District Nurse course.
Although she valued her time in the NHS, Leigh missed the world of Care Home Management and was delighted to return to the sector. Two years on, she is especially excited to now be part of commissioning another new home with the Glencorse team.
