My mother In law has been in care of Elizabeth house care home for over a decade she was moved here following a safeguarding issue from her previous home she has had the best care and the staff treat her like a family member i could not imagine her living anywhere else the care the compassion and the
understanding of my mother in laws needs are second to none (swear words) are appropriate in her mind she likes being spoken to like a human not a care patient and the staff 100 percent have cared to her needs forever and a lifetime the have a person centred approach which is so needed and as a family member I have made a family the carehome staff team as she is the longest resident still standing (or sitting cause she can't stand ) I hand in heart have nothing negative to say about the service the staff and the care absolutely amazing

My mother entered Elizabeth House in 2019 and lived there for half a decade . During this time she was truly loved and cared for by this wonderful staff and manager. They work so hard always showing compassion & understanding of conditions such as dementia . Through covid they kept my Mum safe and
well & protected their residents. They kept things fun for them during the scariest of times . They could always tell me about my Mum how she had been that day any health concerns they had felt she needed support with & any activity she had loved . There was always singers or pet therapy or zoo lab or bingo . Something was always happening . My Mams restlessness due to her dementia meant she was prone to falls but the staff again protected mum so much .People say when dementia ends someone's life they lose their battle against dementia .Well this staff helped my Mum to win her battle by making sure she was happy ,safe ,interested & loved until & throughout her final moment. Thank you all x

My mum was a resident in Elizabeth House for 6 years. Her room was spacious with en-suite bathroom and shower on the ground floor.
Daily activities include all residents and staff take the time to link activities to the seasons and events such as VE Day. There is always a raffle or event happening.
Meals
are excellent and varied. Kitchen staff were always accommodating when mum needed a special diet or meal.
There is a lovely homely feel to the communal areas. Mum loved to have her hair done and having regular chiropodist visits were good too. The staff in the home from housekeeping, kitchen, admin, carers and seniors/manager are all dedicated and caring towards residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff.
My mum was happy living there and was extremely well cared for every day. As her daughter I visited nearly every day and felt like part of the family too.
I couldn't have left her in better hands.
I would certainly recommend Elizabeth House.

Elizabeth House has a cheery home from home feel to it which you notice at once. The home is clean and the food is good. A hairdresser visits once a week and the residents are encouraged to take part in activities. The new manager is full of enthusiasm and is introducing new ideas to make things even
better. Every member of staff, from kitchen to management, is amazing. They all treat my Mum with care, respect and love. They take time for a chat with her and will give reassurance and a hug if needed. Dementia is a challenging illness so I have genuine respect for their patience. Any worries or concerns I might have are addressed quickly and I am kept informed at all times. Mum has been a resident for almost three years and I feel that I now have an extended family in Elizabeth House.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.925)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.925) out of 10 for Elizabeth House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.979 for Elizabeth House is calculated as follows: ( (46 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 47 Ratings = 4.979
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.946 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elizabeth House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.571
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
