Isfryn - "Empowering you to succeed" Isfryn is a unique service in providing specialist Acquired Brain Injury support within a staff team fully trained in person-centred approaches. This means every individual has a bespoke programme of support and unique support pathway, including varied vocational, recreational, therapeutic and leisure activities.
Isfryn has two facilities: Isfryn One – Pre-independence suite a service designed to improve independent skills. There is a separate training kitchen/diner and quiet lounge for more mobile individuals prominently living on the first floor.
Isfryn Two – Neuro-disability suite covers the ground floor and is designed to meet the needs of individuals with more significant physical difficulties. It can also cater for individuals with potentially degenerative conditions. There is a kitchen, dining room, spacious lounge and level access to the gardens at the front of the property.
Isfryn has nurse lead clinical and behavioural specialists to advise on emotional support and complex health needs. All therapeutic input is integrated into daily functional measured goals in line with the individual’s goals and aspirations. Progress is monitored through recognised outcome measures and reviewed regularly by the multidisciplinary team.
The team at Isfryn understand that neurological conditions impact on the whole family and social network. Therefore, staff strive to support the individual to maintain even long distance relationships, as well as empowering the individual to develop new social contacts.
The home is located a short distance from the Brecon Beacons and many other pleasing attractions that make for an enjoyable itinerary when organising outings, with the service also designed to improve the self-confidence of users within the local community.
