Most grateful that the Rectory were able to admit me for respite care after my recent stay in hospital. The weeks I spent there, being cared for in such a beautiful, quiet, calm environment mended me in body and spirit until I was fit to return home.

We had to move my mother into a care home very quickly in September 2021. As soon as we looked around The Old Rectory Care Home, we knew it was the place for mum. The facilities are excellent, and the staff are outstanding. Mum settled in very quickly, due to the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. We feel that she is looked after very well and is in a safe environment. The home communicates in a very efficient manner. We are lucky that we found such a wonderful home for her.

The staff went above and beyond to take care of my mom while she was a resident at The Old Rectory Care Home. Through the difficult time of the pandemic and then getting back to normal life for her afterwards. I thank you all so much. I would highly recommend The Old Rectory Care Home to anyone. They are a very caring team.

My mother has been a resident since August 2021. Following a stroke and a fall some months later we felt unable to give mum the care she needed. My sister and I looked around a few care homes and decided that The Rectory was the best fit for mum. She has a lovely room with en-suite facilities. There is a two week getting to know one another period for both the resident and staff to see if all is well. Thankfully my mum fitted in very well. Even though she had another fall on the second day the staff were very caring and efficient and after a brief stay in hospital soon returned to the Rectory. During the covid restrictions, the staff went above and beyond in helping me visit mum. I became an essential carer as mum has difficulty speaking after her stroke. The telephone or tablet communication just wouldn’t work for her, although this was offered. Nobody wants to go into a care home but, if I had to, this is the one I would choose!

All the staff are lovely and kind. Since being there my mother-in-law is so much calmer and she absolutely loves living there the food is amazing and also has lots of activities throughout the day. It’s more like a hotel than a care home.

My mother has been at The Old Rectory Care Home for over 10 years. She was one of the first residents. Thanks to the exceptional care, love and support that is given to all residents, she spent her last years in a happy and comfortable home. She passed away at the home on May 5th, with her family at her side. We couldn’t have been treated with more respect and thoughtfulness through a few days that were very difficult. Mum was given every comfort and dignity by staff who go above and beyond, every day. I cannot recommend this wonderful home more highly.

It’s been just over a week since our amazing mum was welcomed into this most exceptional home. The immediate warmth of the greeting we received, the immaculate peaceful surroundings and the cleanliness was so apparent. The sincerity and kindness of the owner, managers and all the staff put us at ease, they are attentive polite and genuinely caring and this has continued with respect, sensitivity and exemplary care delivery. Mum's individual holistic needs have been assessed and discussed with emphasis on her own choices. Small goals are gently encouraged. The food is not just nutritionally balanced it is absolutely delicious! As a result, mum is starting to gain her strength and confidence back. Communication is so vital and our stress, worries & sleepless nights are eliminated, as we know mum is in safe hands. In such a short period of time our brave mum has been embraced as part of The Old Rectory Care Home family she is content and peaceful, she’s safe loved and cared for beyond words. Thank you all.

My grandmother has lived at The Rectory since September 2012, when she turned 90. She made the choice herself, after looking at various options, as to where she wanted to move to. All our family agree that she made an excellent choice. As her needs have changed the Rectory has been able to adapt to her personal requirements and my grandmother continues to feel content and comfortable. The Rectory has the relaxed feeling of your own home but with all the attributes of first-class care and assistance, all hours of the day and night. My grandmother has made many friends with other residents and with members of staff and been able to enjoy a variety of activities at the Rectory. Over the years our family have been able to share an excellent meal with our grandmother and spend time walking in the grounds with her. Visitors have always been made welcome although more recently visits have necessarily been constrained to fit within the restraints of Covid-19 precautions.

My mother moved to the Old Rectory Care Home in April 2020 at the start of lockdown. It was a decision that had to be taken in the most difficult circumstances but has been made so much easier thanks to the care and understanding shown by the manager and staff from the very first phone call.
Due to Covid, we were reliant on staff getting to know mum and meet her needs physically, socially and emotionally and we have appreciated very open communication as and when needed. Mum speaks highly of all the staff and they relate to her with warmth, care and humour alongside a very professional approach.

The Old Rectory has a very welcoming ethos and feels more like a hotel than a care home. We couldn't have found a better place for Mum to be cared for during this year of such change and uncertainty and are so grateful for all that the staff have done to make her feel at home. We hope that soon we will be able to enjoy all that The Old Rectory can offer in more normal circumstances.

Our Mother has been a resident at The Old Rectory for over 18-months and has been very well looked after providing excellent care and also very good activities. During the pandemic, they have maintained a very safe environment dedicated to the care of the residents, which is greatly appreciated. On top of the excellent care provided, the facilities are also excellent as the home is in lovely grounds overlooking fields with lots of wildlife to watch. They also have a small vegetable garden, which the residents enjoy, and prior to the pandemic, had regular social events for families and friends.
As identified, you would not know it is a care home as it more resembles a retirement home or country hotel. The food is also top-notch, our mother enjoys it so much she has put some weight on, at 92, that’s not too bad.

I cannot recommend The Old Rectory highly enough for both the home and the staff, who are excellent. I am not aware of a better care home in the area.

In spite of hugely challenging issues caused by the pandemic, I have been immensely impressed by the entire staff group at The Old Rectory, their dedication and commitment to caring and protecting the residents are outstanding, I cannot speak highly enough of them and their dedication. Inevitably Christmas presented additional challenges but my mother in law constantly remarked about the staff giving them a really good seasonal time, in spite of everything. Inevitably presents had to be quarantined; I had bought new trousers as a gift and the staff, tried them on her, after quarantining them, and then very kindly wrapped them in Christmas paper so that we did not have to go through quarantine again even though they were incredibly busy. They are a really exceptional staff group who provide outstanding care to residents and treating them as if they were their own relatives.

My Uncle, who lived alone, needed residential care after a period of hospitalisation in July 2019. As his niece, I had the task of researching and selecting a suitable care home. After visiting a couple of prospective homes, which did not fit my criteria, I was thrilled to learn the Old Rectory had space. This is an exceptional establishment. The standard of care is outstanding and the Old Rectory has the feel of a country hotel rather than a care home. My uncle has made so many friends there and has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect. The manager and her staff are professional, hard working and patient. I would highly recommend this home. It is a wonderful place.

Outstanding care for our mother, who is extremely happy and settled. The 'end of life' care for our Father in November. was dealt with in a caring, sympathetic and professional manner - above and beyond.

Admin systems could be more updated, ie payment by direct debit facility - but this is not a reflection on the team.

My aunt has been well looked after for over 12 months now. Her quality of life has been improved since she moved here due to the care and attention given by all the staff. The food is excellent and offers a wide choice, all served either in a beautiful dining room or in your room on a tray with linen napkins etc. There are many activities to participate in and many events for residents and family alike. Our family would not hesitate to recommend The Old Rectory Care Home.

Once again I can only thank and praise the care our lovely Mother is given at Rectory Care. We as a family can rest assured that our Mum is being kept warm, clean, loved and cared for to the best of the care home ability. They have friendship and a choice of activities available to them and entertainments to enjoy.
We as a family are always treated so warmly and invited to join in many events that take place throughout the seasons. Always kept informed.

We can't thank them all enough.

My mother has been a resident at The Old Rectory Care Home since 2017. She moved from an inadequate service at her apartment due to medical issues that she was unable to deal with herself. Worry and stress was making her physically worse and we (her children) were worried about how long she may live. All this has been reversed at The Old Rectory Care Home. She is happier than she has been for years and stress-free knowing that she is being TOTALLY cared for. Blooming expensive, but worth every penny to give our mum (at 91) happiness and comfort in her twilight years. Could not recommend more, they are 99% brilliant!

It's great, they are really kind. My room is good, I've got a toilet and washbasin of my own, it's cleaned every day.
The food is good quality, they mince my food for me because I can't chew meat very well.

Quite a lot of activities I join in with. I enjoy mealtimes because I can chat with friends. I would definitely recommend it to others.

I cannot praise this care home highly enough. My mother-in-law moved in here a year ago and within 24 hours declared that she never wanted to live anywhere else – and she still says the same today.

The standards of cleanliness are exceptional (absolutely no ‘care home’ smell), attention to detail is perfect and every member of staff seems to care for my mother-in-law as if she were their own mother/grandmother. She is so happy, relaxed and she feels so safe. For the first time in years, we don’t have to take responsibility for her care, we can trust The Old Rectory to do that in every way. We just enjoy visiting her and chatting with her, as well as some of the other residents.

The home is very inclusive of family members and regularly invites us to join in with social events. The particular highlights were bonfire night last autumn and a wonderful garden party in summer.

I cannot think of a single place in the country where my mother-in-law would be happier or better cared for.
