Mum has dementia, the family made a decision to put her in Autumn House Care Home in February 2026, she is very settled and enjoys the company and day to day activities. The staff and management are amazing, I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to put their loved one in a home.

Autumn House is a fantastic place, and I feel so lucky to have found somewhere so perfect for my nan. All staff are so caring and attentive, and genuinly interested in the well-being of the residents. The home is immaculate and always smells clean and fresh as you walk in. My nan is regularly pampered with her hair and nails done and is always involved in activities and crafts. She tells us how happy she is, which is such a big relief for the family.

After making the very hard decision to put my mum into residential care, I can say with hand on heart that we shouldn't have been worried. The care she receives is truly amazing, the staff are brilliant, and she's happy, which is the main thing.

I would recommend Autumn House one hundred percent.

I have visited Autumn House on their open day and was given a tour of the home, very beautiful home, very welcoming. The care home staff greeted us warmly with lovely refreshments.

I since visited after that, again was met with a warm welcome. VE Day party was amazing, all staff and residents enjoying themselves, everyone happy, all very well cared for, families were involved, happy, such a wonderful home I would recommend this care home. Very clean, beautiful surroundings.

On visiting my friend, all the staff made me feel welcome. The management team, care staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and handy man all go above and beyond. All the residents appear to be happy, clean and well cared for. Residents will tell you that themselves as we all chat together. Credit to all staff.

I visited Autumn House for the 1st time today to visit my friend. Staff member that greeted me in was very welcoming and polite, I was made to feel very welcome. I was offered refreshments. My friend was taking part in activities with staff and it was a pleasure to be part of, staff included me, and I really felt part of the home on my visit. My friend looked very well, and I could clearly see all the other residents were well cared for.

Overall Experience

My mum has been in Autumn House since it reopened. Her physical and mental health were in decline but since she went to AH there has been a massive improvement, this is down to the excellent care she now receives. Everybody at AH - directors, management, carers, catering and maintenance staff are fully focused and make sure the residents are cared for and are kept safe and well. There are many activities for the residents to be involved in and the theme days are fun for all residents, staff and relatives. I would fully recommend AH as a care home.

My mum is well looked after, the home is very clean with no nasty smells. Staff are all very nice and treat people with respect. They keep mum active and busy. Food is very good and snacks are offered and good. If asked for anything, they go above and beyond to assist. Far the best in Barnsley.

Overall Experience

A positive ongoing experience from admittance. Although having to admit my husband will be hardest decision I have had to make, it has made a huge difference to his demeanor, ability to carry out more tasks on a daily basis and know that he is cared for like I would expect him to be cared for and like the care I would expect. He is a very accepting person, and I am forever grateful of his care and attention. It doesn't feel like a care home but a place to be treated with continued respect and dignity.

Overall Experience
My grandfather has been a resident in Autumn House since May. Since his arrival he has been welcomed by staff and other residents and treated with compassion. The holistic approach given by staff means every aspect of his care has been addressed.
Activities provided by staff means regular engagement in stimulating and fun times. He appears to be thoroughly enjoying the meals, so much so he has needed bigger trousers.

We couldn't be happier with the care that he is receiving which has made the transition from living at home into a care home a lot easier.
