My mother and mother-in-law are both resident in this care home, where they are both happy and content and so well looked after - it's like one big family! The nursing care is second to none. The home is spotless and the staff are always happy to discuss any issues or questions we may have. When my time comes I would be very glad to move here !

My uncle has been a resident for 2.5 years at Dalgety Bay Care Home. Thoughout this time, the staff, management and facilities have been excellent. My uncle is bed bound and requires additional nursing support. The quality of care provided is brilliant and I'm deeply reassured his every need is provided to look after him. I can't thank the staff enough for their professionalism.

My aunt has been resident for over a year now. She is very happy and comfortable and very well looked after. She feels a "weight has been lifted off her shoulders" and happily allows herself to be taken care of.

All the staff, from nurses and admin to housekeeping and catering, are lovely and have plenty time for a chat. There are plenty of activities and outings arranged, and also time for peace and quiet if needed. The staff remember family members and pets! It is definitely a home from home environment, immaculately clean and very welcoming.

These are my opinions. I visit my mother 4/5 times weekly. The Home is clean & well presented. The staff in general are excellent, with a very few exceptions, but communication between staff can be poor. This may be due to the frequent staff team moves. I also find that the care staff don't do any activities with the residents, therefore if there are no planned activities the residents are 'left to their own devices'.
The activity staff are very good but scheduled activities don't always take place and some activities are repeated eg quizzes. Outings are less frequent for service users now the Home is full, this has impacted on my mum who prefers outings.
I seldom visit during meals but when I have the food has seemed good but my mother does not appear to enjoy her meals as much as previously and has lost weight. The grades for activities & food reflect mum's experience.

The management team have been excellent in dealing with any problems/ issues. I would & have recommended the Home

My mum and dad moved into this care home in Oct 25. My dad was anxious as he's heard so many bad reports about care homes. This care home has changed his attitude as he now says he couldn't get better! It is a beautiful care home, and it is SPOTLESS! There are plenty of varied activities to keep the residents occupied! What makes this home so special is the staff. Nothing is too much of an effort for them, and I'd go as far as to say they treat the residents as though they were their own family. Many staff even come from other communities during their break to speak to mum and dad, or prior to leaving work. 1st class service!

My father has been a resident for almost five months now. I am very pleased with the standard of care he is receiving. He took some time to settle in but the care staff have always been very helpful and kind. The nurses have managed his catheter care and other issues very well. The environment is very homely and the standard of cleanliness is high. There is a calm friendly atmosphere and there are many activities available. The staff are supportive to me as a relative as well. It is a big relief to me and my family that we were able to get a place here for him.

My mum moved into Dalgety Bay at the end of July 2025. She is 93 and has dementia. From the moment she moved in, I felt that she was safe and well looked after. The care she receives is outstanding. Every single member of staff is really kind, caring and gentle with vulnerable people, from the management to the receptionist to the care and nursing staff to housekeeping to the laundry to the kitchen. They are all very friendly and take the time to speak to the residents and to family members. Interaction with residents is positively encouraged .Mum had live-in carers at home before. Her quality of life is so vastly improved in DB. There are activities every day and she is encouraged to participate. I am in most days and probably see more than most family members. What I see is people who really care about the people who live there. They want to provide the best care, and day to day quality of life, possible. I consider that they do that. DB is purpose built. My mum's room is lovely.

This is a warm, caring environment. The staff welcome everyone with a smile and provide high quality individualised care to the residents. Fabulous new building. All the staff are lovely and so helpful. There are minor teething problems, as expected with a new place, but the manager and her team are quick to sort them out. Mum particularly enjoys the activities and is looking forward to having more residents to chat to.

When we dropped in unannounced to have a look around, we were made so welcome, even though it was the official opening today.
The facilities are absolutely stunning - more like a five star hotel - with everything geared up to make it a home from home for the residents. Being able to personalise rooms with our uncle’s familiar things and treasures ensured everything was familiar to him on his arrival.

The staff are extremely professional and friendly and are great communicators with us as a family to ensure we are kept fully in the loop. We cannot fault anything.
