My 93 year old mother has been here for 18 months. This resident-centred nursing home has a real family feel and is well run by a great team of people. The wonderful staff who care for Mom work incredibly hard and always treat her with kindness and compassion, respecting her dignity at all times. Her bright, spacious room is kept immaculate and spotlessly clean. The menu is varied, food is always delicious, and tailored to mom's needs. Mom loves joining the many different activities, which are always fun, lively and well run. Always kept updated about mom's health. Management are welcoming, always available for a chat and very supportive. Reassuring for us as a family, that Mom is so well cared for, safe and secure.

The home is continuously clean, the reception and office staff are welcoming, the nurses on the floor where my dad lives are always friendly, making sure my dad is clean, fed and drinks fluids and will assist if unable to do so himself. They will always engage in conversation and to involve him with the activity staff, who are wonderful. His room is always clean and smells fresh. I know he is safe and no concerns. The nurse station always says hello and informs me of Dad's progress. A wonderful nursing home.

My review shows the excellent care my late wife was given on her last days at the home. Staff managers, care staff, and the catering dept gave me help and advice for her last days. I would recommend. The attention given on this sad occasion with a well-run home. Hygiene above average. Their well organised staff. Credit to all.

i am writing this review about a carer for my grandad who is brilliant. Her name is Romana. no task is ever too much trouble for her she is kind and is always there for my grandad and happy to help any time called upon she interacts so well with him and i think he is slightly happier when this member of staff is working i can also say that it's not just for my grandad she does this with i have seen it for her with all the residence that she cares for.

this review is just a nice mention about this member of staff who i think does go above her standard job role to keep every one happy and always give her best care.

My husband was a resident at Harborne Lane Nursing Home for 3 years. He was always very well cared for by all staff. He was always smartly dressed by the carers. Food was always good. Activities are good even though my husband couldn't take too much of an active part; the activity staff involved him as much as they could.

I am very pleased with the standard of care provided at this home. The staff demonstrate genuine compassion, professionalism, and patience, ensuring that residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times. Communication with families is excellent, and we are always kept well informed about any changes or developments.
The home itself is clean, well-maintained, and provides a warm, welcoming environment. Rooms are comfortable and personal needs are always taken into account. The variety of activities offered helps residents remain engaged and active, contributing to their overall wellbeing.
Meals are of high quality, with consideration given to individual dietary requirements, and the dining experience is both enjoyable and sociable.

Overall, I have complete confidence in the care and support provided here. It offers both residents and their families peace of mind, knowing that loved ones are in safe and caring hands.

My mom has been well looked after since Oct 2024. Her room is always clean and fresh smelling. Mom's generally well presented and her clothes are kept clean by the laundry team. All carers look after mom in a caring manner and keep me well informed about how she's getting on, any gp attention or any upsets.
There have been a few teething problems regarding her hearing aids being lost, damaged by being washed in the laundry, not being put in mom's ears, and sometimes not have working batteries in them. This has improved recently
Mom looks well and, although she's confused most of the time, she is always grateful for the care given to her.
Mom enjoys the activities provided and hopefully, the full programme will return once the new activities coordinator starts employment.

I have expressed concerns about TV content that is shown for a lot of the time. Wall to wall soap operas have never been my mom's choice of viewing. Maybe a bit more variety and music content could be explored

My Mother was a resident of Harborne Lane Nursing Home for just under a year and a half. Every person that came into contact with my Mother was kind, respectful and caring. Managers, carers, the ladies who washed the clothes, chefs and those in charge of resident's activities.

We were always informed of how my Mother was from medical attention to what she had been chatting about. It felt that she really had individual care and attention. There was always someone to ask questions to with information always given. Even after my Mother's death, they dealt with the family's feelings with thought and respect. Thank you.

Overall experience is good. Staff and cleanliness of the home are good. Food has recently been improved, ie. food prepared for my father's liking. Staff do advise when medicine, and food not eaten by my dad.

My mum was admitted in April 2022 after a serious stroke. Not the most cheerful lady or accepting of care, she didn't understand what help she needed. We have been amazed by the care and attention that the manager, the deputy manager and the receptionist and the amazing team have shown to mum and also to dad who visited almost daily. The loving way you supported us until mum's peaceful death in the home will long remain in our memory. It was a good day when I chanced upon your home and we will happily spread the word about your care.

Overall Experience

The care home was purpose-built. Therefore the accommodation and facilities are excellent. The central heating system has been commented on several times and has to be monitored. I find it strange that there are no thermometers anywhere in the building. There is still a need for agency carers on occasions, usually weekends, which brings the care standards down from excellent to good. There does not seem to be sufficient supervision of carers on those occasions. There are some excellent staff in other positions, i.e. admin, laundry and cleaning and they often provide care over and above their duties in order to make the residents more comfortable. The nurses are all excellent and provide nursing care of the highest standards.
