As a family, we cannot express highly enough about the care, compassion and professionalism that our beloved father received at Yarnley House. Although our Dad was only a resident for the last 2 weeks of his life, after being admitted for his end of life care, we were instantly welcomed and made to
feel, as a whole family, at home and also looked after, by the warm and incredibly friendly family of staff. As a registered nurse myself, I recognise good care, not only from a clean environmental aspect, but also from a high standard of care delivery, ensuring Dad was comfortable and pain free, with all of his needs constantly reviewed and managed. At an extremely distressing time for us as a family, seeing Dad so well looked after and so genuinely loved and cared for by some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered, was of extreme comfort for us during our grief process, knowing that everything that needed to be done, was done to the highest standards. We cannot thank you enough

My mother-in-law has been a resident at Yarnley House for 16 months now. She moved from a home which was a little dated.
This home is a breath of fresh air. The whole building is light, spacious and you get a warm welcome from everyone.
The staff are very professional, friendly and caring.
I would
recommend this Care Home to anyone.

I cannot speak highly enough about Yarnley House. From the moment you walk through the doors, there's a genuine sense of warmth, compassion, and professionalism that immediately puts both residents and their families at ease.
The staff are truly exceptional-kind, attentive, and always willing to go
the extra mile, treating every resident with dignity and respect, taking the time to understand individual needs and preferences. It's clear that caregiving here isn't just a job; it's something they deeply care about.
Yarnley House is spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to feel like a real home rather than an institution. There are always engaging activities taking place, encouraging social interaction, creativity, and joy. It's wonderful to see residents smiling, laughing, and genuinely enjoying their days.
Communication with families is excellent, with regular updates and an open, reassuring approach that builds trust and confidence. Knowing your loved one is safe, happy,

My Mum has been a resident at Yarnley House Care Home since November 2024. We are so fortunate to have this on our doorstep and from the moment we walked in to view the home we knew this was going to be a fantastic place for her to live. We had moved her from another home and because Yarnley House was
a brand new custom built care home we found the rooms, which all have en-suite wet rooms, facilities and outside areas to be far superior.
All the staff are caring and supportive, not only to the residents, but also to any friends and family members who visit. At present Mum has capacity & is able to voice her concerns, but I feel extremely confident that should things change for her she will be treated with the upmost care & consideration.

My mum has now been at Yarnley House for 3 months and she truely regards this as her home. We have not seen her so happy since her Husband passed.
The facilities are first class and the staff are both professional and friendly. Nothing is to much trouble for them and mum gets the level of support and
care she deserves in her later years.
Having looked around a number of homes at the end of 2025, I must say Yarnley House stands head and shoulders above all the ones we visited in Dorset and Hampshire.
A special shout out to the activities team sho make the social life of Yarnley so much fun for the residence.

Everytime we visit my grandmother in law we are always greates with smiles and they allow my children to sign in on their sheet and help them get things in the right order! We are always remembered too which is nice as I know we don't go often. We love how they interact with our family member and how
they encourage them to get involved. She is doing really well there and gets involved with some of the activities that go on. It's got such a warm feeling.

At last I can relax and know my mum, who has dementia, is receiving the best possible care for her. It has been a difficult few years finding the right home for my mum as she can be challenging. The staff have gradually built a trusting, caring and fun rapport with her which she is responding to so
well. She is happier and healthier than she has been for a long time. Nothing is perfect in this kind of environment because of the requirement to cater for so many different needs but I believe this is as good as it could be. It is new and in the process of fully establishing itself but I couldn't be more happy. There is a lack of activities but I believe this is being addressed.

We would like to a big thankyou to all the staff who looked after our mum. She has been well looked after and her room was always clean and tidy and she enjoyed her food as it is all cooked on site. Mum also enjoyed chatting to the other residents and she made some friends. I chose the home as it is
close to her home and not far for my sister to visit. While in the home she was able to have her hair done by a local lady who did a very nice cut and blow dry. I would highly recommend this home and would gladly have mum stay there again. The bedrooms are very clean with an on suite. Nothing was to much trouble.

The care at Yarnley House has been exceptionally good. My dad has been cared for extremely well, and with dignity and kindness. All of the staff, including nurses, carers, cleaners, administrators, caterers, are very competent, sensitive and responsive, and there is a nice atmosphere in the home. The
quality and upkeep of the building is first-rate - the home is very new and is equipped with very high-quality facilities, furnishings, etc. Overall, the experience has been very good, which has been a great comfort at a difficult time.

Our mother moved into Yarnley House on Monday 30th December. This is her, and our, first experience of residential care. Although 102, living with Dementia and quite frail, she is fiercely independent and we were not anticipating such contented reactions as she has shown to the staff's care, not to
mention the home's facilities and other residents, all of which have been positive. So a huge thank you to all involved, from designers to on-the-ground staff. It's a great place, well done.

I have visited literally hundreds of care homes in my career as a social worker and as a relative of elderly people. I can put my hand on my heart and say this is the best home I have ever come across. My Uncle and Aunt moved in a couple of months ago and are having a first-class experience.
The establishment
is modern, spotlessly clean, light, and airy, and gives the impression of a top hotel. The food is home-cooked, has lots of choices, and is freshly made. All the staff have been courteous, and helpful and go the extra mile to meet my Uncle's and Aunts needs. I cannot praise the efficiency of this home enough.

Moving relatives into a care home is a traumatic time, but the staff at Yarnley House made the upheaval much easier. Management, receptionists, nursing and of course caring staff were marvellous at putting us all at ease. Nothing was too much trouble.
This newly purpose-built home is special. Spacious
and light with a bistro, cinema, library and craft rooms.
The care is faultless, backed by super catering, laundry, a gardener and handyman etc. Excellent! High recommended.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.939)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.939) out of 10 for Yarnley House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.964 for Yarnley House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (219 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 223 Ratings = 4.964
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Yarnley House Care Home is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 72 registered maximum number of service users is 14.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
