This is an extraordinary opportunity to support the Founder and Executive Chair of Athena Care Homes — a dynamic, values-led leader with a bold vision for the future of quality care in the UK.

About the role:
As the Executive Assistant, you will act as a trusted right hand, providing high-level strategic and administrative support across a diverse portfolio of projects, investments, and partnerships. The role demands intellect, intuition, and impeccable discretion, supporting a founder who blends entrepreneurial drive with deep humanity and purpose.

This is not a traditional EA role. You’ll be deeply involved in growth, governance, and decision-making, from coordinating acquisitions and large-scale tenders to managing legal documentation and preparing materials that inform Board-level strategy.

Salary:
Competitive

Shift Pattern:
37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday.

Location:
Remote with an on-site meeting every fortnight either in London or at Athena’s Head Office in Laindon, Essex.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic & Project Support

  • Coordinate due diligence and documentation for acquisitions, tenders, and major business projects.
  • Liaise with legal, financial, and property advisors to ensure accurate, timely submissions.
  • Prepare comprehensive Board Packs, governance reports, and business documentation for the Executive Chair’s review.
  • Maintain a firm grasp of the wider business context, helping to identify risks and priorities.

Documentation & Communication

  • Draft and proofread correspondence, presentations, and reports with clarity and polish.
  • Translate complex legal, policy, and financial information into succinct, actionable summaries.
  • Keep all governance and business files meticulously organised and secure.
  • Manage a fast-paced and frequently changing diary, travel schedule, and meeting programme.
  • Handle highly confidential information with exceptional discretion.
  • Serve as a professional representative and first point of contact on behalf of the Executive Chair.

  • Handle highly confidential information with exceptional discretion.
  • Serve as a professional representative and first point of contact on behalf of the Executive Chair.

About You:
You are an experienced Executive Assistant — someone who thrives on responsibility, precision, and pace. You’ve supported a founder, or executive in a complex, high-growth or highly regulated environment, or a high net worth individual or family, and you’re as comfortable reading a legal report as you are managing a diary.

You’re calm under pressure, quick to anticipate needs, and confident in setting boundaries to protect the Executive Chair’s time and focus.

You’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience as an EA to a Founder, CEO, or Executive Chair.
  • Proven ability to manage legal or governance documentation and coordinate multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset, strong judgment, and genuine discretion.
  • (Desirable) Background in legal, compliance, or policy administration.

What we can offer:

  • The opportunity to work side-by-side with an inspiring, purpose-driven Founder leading a growing and respected care group.
  • Varied, meaningful work across strategic, legal, and operational projects.
  • A remote working model with occasional travel to sites and meetings.
  • The chance to make a lasting impact — not just on a business, but on the lives it touches.
