There is always free tea, coffee and (usually) home made cake available, if the previous visitors haven't grabbed it all! One of the residents (Roger) is nominated as Resident Ambassador, and very kindly, does his best to make the other residents feel at home. Thank you Roger!

I have always found every member of staff team to be friendly, knowledgeable & obliging. Everyone is very welcoming, the rooms are clean and there is a relaxed, yet controlled atmosphere. I have found good emphasis on health, safety & security for staff & residents. Thank you.

Very good atmosphere

A wonderful pleasant care home such beautiful surroundings , extra friendly staff ,spotlessly clean in all areas and good substantial home cooked food for residents. Visitors are made very welcome by the friendly staff and nothing to much trouble . If ever I needed a care home or hear of someone who did Avocet Court would be my first and only choice as don't think you'll find a more caring care home in the town or surrounding area.

Staff on harvester unit are also very good and caring to mum and us too, can not fault the care here at Ashlynn Grange. Thank you to all staff we appreciate everything you do.

The pace of her recovery, including building her confidence, is to date hugely positive and great to see!

Staff are amazing! All so friendly and helpful. Facilities are great especially the Reception cafe. Couldn't praise the staff enough. How they all remain so happy and approachable is beyond me.

This is a huge thank you to all at Langdon House who helped to arrange, and give my mother a fantastic 100th Birthday Party. The management, carers and caterers all went beyond what was necessary, by putting an article in the local newspaper telling readers how much mum regards birthday cards, suggesting it would be nice to have 100 cards on her 100th birthday, in the event she had 130 and still coming in. The home also arranged for the Honourable Mayor of Cambridge Maria to come and have a private chat with mum in her room, all this followed by a sing song party in the afternoon lead by Stacey a local singer, to conclude there was a lovely cake, wine and lovely party food for all to enjoy. My mum was treated with dignity and understanding. Staff and house supervisor (Powys) were excellent. Needs to be better links with medical care as infections need to be treated without delays. Cause by slow registration with doctor. Short term residents should perhaps be treated by own doctor. Thank you for looking after my mum.

Care at weekends definitely does not seem to be as organised and well managed as it is during the week.

From the time my mother went into the care home she couldn't have been treated better. Considering how busy the staff are there wasn't a long wait once the attention button was pressed. The staff were amazing with my mother and I have to say to me too, I was there virtually every day and sometimes twice a day, always met with a smile and hello, had cups of tea made for me as well. I extend mine and my mother's gratitude to Kayleigh and her team, I will pop in every now and again as I miss my cups of tea.

My father in law needed to consider residential care after a period of time in hospital. Alex Wood House was recommended by our local GP practice and also a friend whose mum was a resident. From first making enquiries to admission the staff could not have been more helpful. It's a lovely home, small enough for staff to really know their residents, lots of activities, plenty of outside space. My FIL really enjoys the food and his health and mobility has improved since being a resident. It wasn't easy for him to consider residential care however the staff went out of their way to help him settle in. We would absolutely recommend

My mother spent almost a year at Goodwins Hall, where she received nursing care following a serious stroke and could not look after herself. From an early stage the staff were proactive with her care and treatment, trying new things to help and encourage her and seeking advice and support from external agencies where appropriate. They involved the family with decisions about her care, treating us as part of the team, and we always felt very welcome on our regular visits. They treated mum with great patience and respect, even when her condition meant that her behaviour was challenging, and I am very grateful for the kind and compassionate way in which they cared for her in her last days. Having experienced the warmth, commitment and expertise shown by the staff - management, carers and administration alike - I have no hesitation in recommending Goodwins Hall.

All members of staff are very friendly, polite and welcoming we as a family can ask any questions and get help and assistance from all staff. Since my brother moved into the home at the end of July we have noticed a vast improvement in his overall mood he is so much happier and content due to being looked after so well, the standard of food is a vast improvement from his previous care home and the staff all treat him like he is their own family which for us as a family reassures us that he is well cared for.

Apart from the lovely staff who care daily for my grandad, I enjoy the home made cake made for us when we visit, we pop in for a hot chocolate and cake, school cake especially!

Skilful, respectful, compassionate.

Mum lived at Goodwins Hall for nearly a year after a stroke left her needing constant nursing care. The staff were SO patient with mum - she found life very difficult. The staff were excellent, liaising with the local GP surgery as well as specialist support.

Sadly, mum deteriorated and died recently. At her funeral my brother and I described the care she received as skilful, respectful and compassionate. Skilful - they organised all kinds of professional support as well as trying new strategies as and when needed. Respectful - they always treated mum as a person and involved us and consulted with us. Compassionate - they stood alongside us as we said 'the long goodbye' to mum over the last weeks and months. Thank you for all you did for her, and your care of us too.

I spent time at Amberley for physiotherapy after breaking my knee and tibia. The staff are fantastic, I cannot fault anything, in fact when I left on Monday, I cried with sadness at leaving all the lovely people behind .

Always found the staff very helpful, supportive and very lovely. it's alway clean and the facilities are good. With having the large dining rooms and the coffee room. lots of activities to do daily(if the patients want) Have had Sunday dinner here a few times which has always been good too! I know a lot of support has been given to our relation, we have always been rang to inform us of everything we need to know. All in we as a family are happy :)
