Hello, I am Abi and I am the Home Manager here at Alex Wood House. My family all have a medical background and since an early age I knew in my heart that my passion is to care and support anyone I can.
My background is Nursing and over the last 20 years I have worked throughout NHS services in London and as Regional Clinical Lead for a care provider delivering exemplary Residential Care, Dementia Care and Nursing Care throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire.
After which I commissioned a Charitable Trust’s Retirement Living facility with 300 residents. It was delightful to meet them, their families, and friends over the years as they made the decision to move to a care setting. It is a big decision to make, and I fully understand the trust and journey of this transition for all involved.
I instantaneously know what outstanding care provision looks like and it is my responsibility that collectively this is what we always provide at Alex Wood House to maintain the great reputation this home has in the local community.
Companionate, person-centred care and support is truly what drives us all every single day as our Athena family care for you and your family at Alex Wood House.
My daughter is studying Medicine at University College London, and it makes me so happy to see her journey in healthcare and at the same time support all our staff here at the home in their journeys too!
My door is always open, and I look forward to welcoming you at Alex Wood House – which truly feels like a home and supporting you in any way I possibly can.
