My mother spent almost a year at Goodwins Hall, where she received nursing care following a serious stroke and could not look after herself. From an early stage the staff were proactive with her care and treatment, trying new things to help and encourage her and seeking advice and support from external agencies where appropriate. They involved the family with decisions about her care, treating us as part of the team, and we always felt very welcome on our regular visits. They treated mum with great patience and respect, even when her condition meant that her behaviour was challenging, and I am very grateful for the kind and compassionate way in which they cared for her in her last days. Having experienced the warmth, commitment and expertise shown by the staff - management, carers and administration alike - I have no hesitation in recommending Goodwins Hall.

Mum lived at Goodwins Hall for nearly a year after a stroke left her needing constant nursing care. The staff were SO patient with mum - she found life very difficult. The staff were excellent, liaising with the local GP surgery as well as specialist support.

Sadly, mum deteriorated and died recently. At her funeral my brother and I described the care she received as skilful, respectful and compassionate. Skilful - they organised all kinds of professional support as well as trying new strategies as and when needed. Respectful - they always treated mum as a person and involved us and consulted with us. Compassionate - they stood alongside us as we said 'the long goodbye' to mum over the last weeks and months. Thank you for all you did for her, and your care of us too.

I spent time at Amberley for physiotherapy after breaking my knee and tibia. The staff are fantastic, I cannot fault anything, in fact when I left on Monday, I cried with sadness at leaving all the lovely people behind .

A hotel atmosphere with friendly, welcoming staff. Physio support willing but liaison with NHS could have been better. Otherwise excellent and much appreciated. V glad this is where my friend received his rehab.

Came to Goodwins as a NHS rehab patient and was amazed at the overall level of care. The staff are kind, helpful and friendly and all seem to enjoy working here. As a rehab patient the help and encouragement I have had has been incredible. They even provided me with a small 'cycling' machine to help me regain my fitness; an unbelievable bonus for a keen cyclist. The programme of social events includes everything from trips to the beach to flower arranging ,Tai Chi to pat dog visits and many more; literally something for everyone. Goodwins has beautiful gardens where residents and visitors can walk and enjoy the flowers and the local wildlife, or just sit and chat. Inside there is a small cinema, a hairdressers, library and games room. One of the highlights of Goodwins is that visitors are always welcome and can enjoy the total privacy of the residents own room or a cup of coffee and home made cakes in the open are near reception. My mum (97) had been living independently with assistance but fell and broke her wrist. She was sent from hospital to Amberley Hall for rehabilitation, mum already had cognitive issues but in general i would say that all staff treated her well and with respect. At any time there was concerns for her health the home contacted a nurse or GP and kept me up to date via the telephone. I was always made welcome on my regular visits to see mum. Thank you.

Mum was sent to Amberley for rehabilitation after a stay in hospital. Her room was bright, clean and met her needs. NHS rehab staff were very active, trying to get individuals mobile again. The team leaders kept us informed of any notable points and were very approachable. The care staff are very friendly and made mum very welcome and made her short stay as pleasant as possible. The cafe is an ideal place for visitors to join up with loved ones.

I was a resident at Amberley Hall for rehab purposes following a fall. Overall, I found the care given was very good, I was treated with respect at all times.

Mum was taken with some other residents on a trip to the lavender farm. I met them there and it was such a happy experience. All the carers were so kind and thoughtful and everyone had a lovely time. Going out of the home where it is possible is so valuable for their mental health and happiness. A big thank you to everyone who organised it.

After a horror story 5 days in experimental I was offered the chance to come back hear to Goodwins Hall Care Home. I was told to ready in 1 hrs to swap homes. I was ready in 7 minutes. Back hear in one hour. And I personally am over the moon with the whole experience so far the place has a calming affect on me.

Both inside and out the care home is as it should be , very welcoming , supportive and caring to not just the individuals that reside there, but also to all visitors family and friends of the care home .

Since mum arrived, I have loved popping in to see her. She was, previously, 85 miles away and it was a long trip, every 10 days. The staff are lovely much more attentive than her previous residence. Unfortunately, mum has had issues since her arrival but the staff are getting the appropriate people in to check things out. The staff are diligent, caring, understanding + compassionate. Always a smile, a warm welcome and a listening ear to my concerns.

My father-in-law has been in Amberley Hall since September 2025 for rehabilitation but dementia has set in, and his ability to walk again became non-existent, but the care and kindness and making him and us so welcome was amazing. He is now at Amberley permanently, and his wife is a resident too, so they are still together. The persistence from management of Amberley, we are truly grateful.

My father has been here for 2 months now and we can't fault a thing. All the staff are so friendly and caring, nothing is too much trouble. Dad enjoys the activities and seems to join in with most things. His stamina has improved since being here which is good to see. Well done to you all, I'll be booking my room soon!!!!!

I am writing on behalf of my husband, who had a 3 week stay at Amberley. The care he received was excellent, and all the staff nurses/helpers were all very caring, which I am sure resulted in my husband coming home. We are very very appreciative of this kind of care.
