This is a huge thank you to all at Langdon House who helped to arrange, and give my mother a fantastic 100th Birthday Party. The management, carers and caterers all went beyond what was necessary, by putting an article in the local newspaper telling readers how much mum regards birthday cards, suggesting it would be nice to have 100 cards on her 100th birthday, in the event she had 130 and still coming in. The home also arranged for the Honourable Mayor of Cambridge Maria to come and have a private chat with mum in her room, all this followed by a sing song party in the afternoon lead by Stacey a local singer, to conclude there was a lovely cake, wine and lovely party food for all to enjoy. Thank you Langdon House for a fantastic day

I cannot thank the staff at Langdon House enough for the way they have cared for my mother, who arrived in April with extreme health anxiety. There is truly a culture of kindness: every member of staff, whether office admin, carer or housekeeping, really cares about the happiness and wellbeing of each resident. Everyone was unfailingly positive, patient, supportive and comforting when my mother's anxieties were at their worst, all of them doing their best to reassure her. As she gradually recovered, the staff became like friends: always making time to chat with her and encouraging her to socialise and join in activities. After four months, she now feels well enough to return to her sheltered housing flat. Langdon House arranged a leaving party for her and it was absolutely heartwarming to see how much genuine affection she and the staff had developed for each other. There may be more luxurious homes in Cambridge, but I do not believe there is a kinder one.

They are varied including music events, classical and popular music, artistic activities all of which Chris enjoys tremendously. Chris also enjoys the trip out into Cambridge which is where he was born and grew up.

My dad recently moved to Langdon House and I could not be happier or more impressed with all of the staff and with the overall atmosphere and quality of care. I was worried about how my dad would cope with the transition to a new care home, but he is visibly happier and more relaxed than I have seen him for a long time. The staff have really cared about getting to know him and managing his needs in a very personalised way. The atmosphere whenever I visit feels calm, warm and compassionate, so that I feel very at home there too. Thank you so much to everyone involved in all of this. I feel I have found the perfect care home for my dad, and I am hugely grateful and relieved.

The warmth and welcome can be felt on walking through the doors at Langdon House. I am in awe for the care for my Brother. He receives support with his health needs and medication, nutritious food, dignity in personal care, all given willingly with a positive and caring attitude. I am unable to visit frequently however only hear good comments from my Brother when I speak with him on the phone, he refers to Langdon House as his home. Whenever I visit, the carers and staff are friendly and very willing to answer any questions I may have. Thank you.

My mother has been welcomed into Langdon house with open arms. She is supported really well in her needs and the communication with me about her care and health issues has been excellent. She is involved in activities every day and is making friends, In fact she says that she is almost too busy to read! The system of communication about the activities which residents are involved in keeps me up to date with lovely pictures and descriptions. Mum has lovely carers who really engage with the residents and show them real love. I couldn't be happier that Mum is in such a safe and comfortable place.

Langdon House has such a warm and friendly feeling the minute you walk in the door, the Admin Manager and team are always helpful, friendly and please to see you and know all the residence very well, The Home Manager will always make time to discuss any issues with you,

Langdon House has such a warm and friendly feeling the minute you walk in the door, the Admin Manager and team are always helpful, friendly and please to see you and know all the residence very well, The Home Manager will always make time to discuss any issues with you, The management team seem to have an open door policy and will always make them selves available if needed, The entertainment team work the same way, they organise amazing activities for the residence at least twice a day, including several external days out, The caring team are also extremely professional, the Team Leader, Nurses, Carers, cleaners etc are always approachable and very accommodating at all times, nothing is two much trouble. The rooms and communal areas are clean and warm, and the gardens are well maintained and used constantly through the summer months.
On the very rare occasions that there is an issue with site maintenance it is acted on very swiftly and professionally

My elderly father has been a permanent resident at Langdon House since earlier this year following falls and a period in hospital. He was familiar with the home as had previously spent two periods of respite care. My father has always been a very independent, private and self sufficient person. It has been, and continues to be hard for him to accept that he needs assistance. He has settled well and reports that he feels comfortable at Langdon House. All members of the family who have visited have found all the staff welcoming ,friendly and caring. My father is being very well cared for. He reports feeling 'safe and secure'.
I feel totally comfortable that my elderly father is content and well cared for at Langdon House.

Overall Experience
1. On the day we arrived we was told room 20 had been deep cleaned, I opened the wardrobe door to find it full of deceased residents clothes, shoes, all belongings.

1. On the day we arrived we was told room 20 had been deep cleaned, I opened the wardrobe door to find it full of deceased residents clothes, shoes, all belongings. 2. The first evening the night carer arrived and was very quick to tell us how she was leaving and "couldn't wait to get out of this place" Didn't fill us with much confidence. 3. We arrived next day and questioned why Dads bed had been changed to be told "he must have messed it" something he has never done before from that day to Dads leave date the same bedding remained on his bed. 4. Most annoyed that we was sent a message on dads first full day by a member of the team, telling us that Dad had a good night which was a lie, and was led to believe he had gone to join in with activities when after enquiring he had not participated or even taken to do them. 5. Me + my partner had to attend everyday after that as we did not feel out loved one was being cared for properly. A. Lack of fluids. B. Food below standards C. Not encouraged to eat D. Lack of staff
To many problems to list on the day of Dads leaving. We packed his stuff and cleaned his room to find medication he was given in his pockets and under his bed, this suggests to me that a man with Dementia was not even watched while being given medication that was very important. This is the end of my review and will be contacting CQC regarding out experience of Langdon Care Home. When I asked the care home manager why all of this was allowed to happen whilst in their care she blamed the staff, I told her it was not the staff or lack of, it was down to the fact that so long as the boxes were ticked she actually didn't have a clue what was happening in Langdon Care Home. To many management doing not a lot and understaffed on the floor, not any of them helped with staff issues.

Hello, my name is Andreea, and I am the Home Manager here at Langdon House.
From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to help people and pursue a career as a Nurse, GP, or Dentist. Having obtained my BSc in General Nursing in 2014, I continued to build on my knowledge and experience in the UK, working as a Community Manager and Clinical Lead Nurse for one of the largest providers of elderly care in the country. I was regularly commended for delivering and maintaining the highest quality standards of care, which I am very proud of, as this is what drives me every single day!
As a Home Manager, I am passionate about providing exemplary care, and this commitment is at the very heart of everything we do at Langdon House. It is important to us that all our residents have the choice to live their lives in the way they wish, and we are therefore able to create happy and meaningful memories together.
I fully understand the trust that residents and their families place in us when they choose Langdon House, and I take this responsibility very seriously. It is a true privilege to get to know our residents, along with their families and friends, in the homely and supportive environment that Langdon House offers.

I first came to Langdon House on work experience when I was 16 years old and had such an amazing experience that I knew in my heart I wanted to pursue a career in elderly care. I went on to complete my NVQ in Health and Social Care and, over the years, have been fortunate to work in many different roles within the home, from Care Assistant to Senior Team Leader, covering both days and nights.
I fully appreciate the responsibility of my role as Deputy Manager at Langdon House, and our residents and their experience are, and always will be, very close to my heart.
