View Full Details of Langdon HouseMy mother has been welcomed into Langdon house with open arms. She is supported really well in her needs and the communication with me about her care and health issues has been excellent. She is involved in activities every day and is making friends, In fact she says that she is almost too busy to read! The system of communication about the activities which residents are involved in keeps me up to date with lovely pictures and descriptions. Mum has lovely carers who really engage with the residents and show them real love. I couldn't be happier that Mum is in such a safe and comfortable place.
My mum has been in Langdon House since January and I can't be happy with the care she receives. All the staff at Langdon House have been amazing with my mum. Plenty of activities and entertainment which mum really enjoys. If she is having a down day staff always try and find time to comfort her and cheer her up.
Langdon House has such a warm and friendly feeling the minute you walk in the door, the Admin Manager and team are always helpful, friendly and please to see you and know all the residence very well, The Home Manager will always make time to discuss any issues with you, The management team seem to have an open door policy and will always make them selves available if needed, The entertainment team work the same way, they organise amazing activities for the residence at least twice a day, including several external days out, The caring team are also extremely professional, the Team Leader, Nurses, Carers, cleaners etc are always approachable and very accommodating at all times, nothing is two much trouble. The rooms and communal areas are clean and warm, and the gardens are well maintained and used constantly through the summer months. On the very rare occasions that there is an issue with site maintenance it is acted on very swiftly and professionally
My elderly father has been a permanent resident at Langdon House since earlier this year following falls and a period in hospital. He was familiar with the home as had previously spent two periods of respite care. My father has always been a very independent, private and self sufficient person. It has been, and continues to be hard for him to accept that he needs assistance. He has settled well and reports that he feels comfortable at Langdon House. All members of the family who have visited have found all the staff welcoming ,friendly and caring. My father is being very well cared for. He reports feeling 'safe and secure'. I feel totally comfortable that my elderly father is content and well cared for at Langdon House.
Our experience with Langdon House has been extremely positive. The staff have gone out of their way to ensure my uncle has settled in, been well looked after and cared for. Andreea, Claire, Rosie, Joseph, Neil & all the other Practitioner's & carers have provided us with everything we have asked for and more. We would, without hesitation recommend Langdon House to other families. Thank you for making the transition and ongoing care seamless.
Room and bathroom always kept very clean cares very helpful and attentive. Every effort made to take care of all the residents needs. The carers go out of their way to welcome visitors. The carers go out of their way to make sure the residents are happy and have all their needs taken care of.
Everything seems to be excellent, I am well looked after with no worries. I can sit back and enjoy the time I have left.
I have been her 4 months and I am very satisfied with the facilities.
Langdon House looks after my gran well. She doesn't generally like attending events. The team get her engaged in events. The team really care and look after the residents well and with dignity. From the moment you enter the home the team are really friendly and helpful. the staff on reception are always super nice and always has a smile on his face and a kind word to say. Since my gran has been at Langdon, the staff has always been super nice and take no messing from gran, she really cares for the residents' wellbeing.
Langdon Care Home is very welcoming and the staff are great there. The residents seem very happy and the grounds, building are beautiful. They offer many events, activities for the residents and really make an effort to ensure they are well cared for.
1. On the day we arrived we was told room 20 had been deep cleaned, I opened the wardrobe door to find it full of deceased residents clothes, shoes, all belongings. 2. The first evening the night carer arrived and was very quick to tell us how she was leaving and "couldn't wait to get out of this place" Didn't fill us with much confidence. 3. We arrived next day and questioned why Dads bed had been changed to be told "he must have messed it" something he has never done before from that day to Dads leave date the same bedding remained on his bed. 4. Most annoyed that we was sent a message on dads first full day by a member of the team, telling us that Dad had a good night which was a lie, and was led to believe he had gone to join in with activities when after enquiring he had not participated or even taken to do them. 5. Me + my partner had to attend everyday after that as we did not feel out loved one was being cared for properly. A. Lack of fluids. B. Food below standards C. Not encouraged to eat D. Lack of staff To many problems to list on the day of Dads leaving. We packed his stuff and cleaned his room to find medication he was given in his pockets and under his bed, this suggests to me that a man with Dementia was not even watched while being given medication that was very important. This is the end of my review and will be contacting CQC regarding out experience of Langdon Care Home. When I asked the care home manager why all of this was allowed to happen whilst in their care she blamed the staff, I told her it was not the staff or lack of, it was down to the fact that so long as the boxes were ticked she actually didn't have a clue what was happening in Langdon Care Home. To many management doing not a lot and understaffed on the floor, not any of them helped with staff issues.
The staff did their utmost to make sure my 94-year-old mother could attend my daughter's wedding, despite her needing to be seen by paramedics on the morning. I just feel they need to be valued and paid more for the care and duties they have, plus more staff needed at certain times of the day.
All the staff at Langdon House have been amazing with my mum, they have also supported us as a family. Plenty of activities and entertainment for residents. Good communication with staff and relatives, always a nice atmosphere when you go and visit. Residents are well looked after.
My friend is very happy in Langdon House and calls it 'My home'. He is a very private person and not very sociable, but he enjoys the animals and classical music.
Incredible place! From the very first meeting to today, the Langdon House team have been exceptional. The level of care for residents is above and beyond and the team are wonderful and enormous fun. The communication with family is brilliant, from calls and emails to the app and in person. The facilities are modern, light, airy and ideal for my mum. We transferred from another care home and could not be happier. Huge thanks to the Langdon House team!
I spent ten days in Langdon House to recover from a knee replacement operation before returning to my flat, where I live. I liked: Kind, friendly staff and my comfortable and quiet room. I did not like: No shower available, although I asked several times and would not have needed help. The food: Too much starch and not nearly enough fresh veg and fruit. Meals were not healthy or appetising, despite the write-up in the brochure. Breakfast is especially poor.
My father has been a resident of Langdon House since September 2022 and throughout the care and attention have been excellent. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for care facilities for loved ones. The staff are always friendly, caring and put the residents' needs first.
My mother was accepted into Langdon house on Friday 28th of June when me and some family members saw her on the following Sunday, the change in her brought tears to my daughter's eyes to see how happy her nan was. We can not thank you and the wonderful staff enough you are all a credit to the care service once again a big thank you.
Excellent welcome and settling into a very clean and tidy room. Very good settling into home facilities and rules. Excellent food and dining facilities.
Very friendly, helpful staff. Nothing too much trouble. My husband is comfortable and relaxed. Very impressed.
