Day Care Assistant (Part-Time) – Hawthorn Court Care Home

Location: Swansea
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: "Twilight Shifts" up to 36 hours per week available | 5 hour shifts (15:30 – 19:30)
Rolling rota includes weekends and public holidays

We’re looking for a kind, proactive Day Care Assistant to join the team at Hawthorn Court. If you’re dependable, compassionate, and confident working in a fast-paced care home, this is your chance to support residents during one of the most vital parts of their day.

About Hawthorn Court

Hawthorn Court is a 22-bed residential care home just outside Swansea, supporting older adults many with dementia or complex needs. We’re known for our strong team culture, fast pace, and unwavering commitment to person-centred care.

Your Role

As a Care Assistant, you’ll help residents get the most out of each day. Duties include:

• Assisting with washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting
• Supporting morning routines, meals, and meaningful activities
• Providing companionship and emotional reassurance
• Maintaining cleanliness and a safe, calm environment
• Monitoring wellbeing and reporting concerns to senior staff

What We’re Looking For

? At least 1 year of experience in a UK care home (essential)
? Confident working with people with dementia or high dependency needs
? Reliable, proactive, and able to use your initiative
? Team-focused with strong communication skills
? NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work toward it)
? Able to work weekends and public holidays on a rota
