Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dynamic Activities Director to enhance the quality of life for residents in our care home facilities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and implementing engaging activities tailored to the needs of seniors, including those requiring specialised dementia and Alzheimer's care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.

Duties

  • Develop and coordinate a diverse programme of recreational, social, and therapeutic activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities.
  • Organise group outings, events, and personalised activities that promote community engagement and individual interests.
  • Collaborate with care staff to assess residents’ needs and preferences, ensuring activities are inclusive and beneficial.
  • Maintain detailed records of participation and residents’ responses to activities to inform future planning.
  • Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages participation and socialisation among residents.
  • Supervise volunteers or activity assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, including dementia-specific protocols such as Alzheimer’s care.
