Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our team within a reputable care home. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for supervising care staff, implementing care plans, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional person-centred care.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise care team members to ensure the delivery of outstanding care services
  • Knowledge of medications and giving medication to resident's
  • Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
  • Develop, review, and update personalised care plans in collaboration with residents and their families
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff, fostering a positive team environment
  • Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
  • Maintain accurate documentation using IT systems for record keeping and communication purposes
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care
  • Support residents in engaging with social activities and community outings as required
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in senior care or supervisory roles within a care home setting
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach towards residents
  • Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to utilise IT systems for documentation
  • Familiarity with senior care needs, including mobility assistance and personal care requirements
  • Previous experience supervising or managing a team is highly desirable
  • A caring attitude combined with organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
