Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards across various premises, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all residents, visitors and staff. Previous experience in commercial cleaning, janitorial duties, or hospital / care home environments is highly desirable. Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness of bedrooms, toilets, washrooms, kitchens, and communal spaces according to health and safety standards.
  • Handle waste disposal and ensure bins are emptied regularly and correctly.
  • Restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls as needed.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
  • Use appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, particularly in hospital or healthcare settings.
  • Ensure all work areas are kept tidy and organised during shifts.

Skills

  • Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is advantageous.
  • Experience working in hospital / care home environments is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good organisational skills to manage daily tasks efficiently.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and punctuality.
