We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team at St Stephens Care Home. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing essential support to our patients and assisting healthcare professionals in delivering excellent care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Help patients with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Provide assistance with feeding and hydration as necessary.
  • Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures and treatments under supervision.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition.
  • Maintain a clean and organized patient environment, including making beds and tidying rooms.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting their well-being and dignity.
  • Adhere to all healthcare protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role is preferred but not required.
  • Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices is beneficial.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or First Aid is advantageous.
