Job summary
Thurlaston Meadows is a family run home located in the village of Thurlaston just outside of Dunchurch, Rugby. We pride ourselves on delivering first class care for our elderly residents.
We are currently looking for a Activities Manager to lead our activities team. As Activities Manager, you will be responsible for arranging daily activities within the home for our residents whilst also arranging trips out to the local Museum, Parks, Theatres etc. You will also have the support of Management as well as the assistance of Activities Co-ordinator in arranging all these activities along with producing a monthly newsletter which showcases all the activities that have taken place. We have our own LEVC electric taxi vehicle which can be used to take residents out on trips, and this is wheelchair accessible. Also, in this role you will have the responsibility to set up fund raising events to help raise funds for the Residents Activities Fund which is then used on taking residents out on trips, buying new activities equipment, or paying for entertainers to perform in the home.
Key Responsibilities: -
· Leading and delivering high quality and fun activities for all residents to enjoy safely
· Engaging in activities with all residents and their relatives
· Keeping residents care plans up to date with their daily activities.
· Getting to know each individual resident and knowing their likes and dislikes.
· Updating Social Media pages with pictures and events and always promoting the care home in a positive way.
Skills required: -
· To be a hardworking, fun, and outgoing person
· Be able to use your initiative and to think outside the box, bringing new ideas and constant improvement to the home’s activities and image
· Love working with the elderly and have lots of patience
· Organised and methodical with attention to detail
· Able to lead an activities team successfully
· Strong IT skills, in Word and Excel
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Cost and budget conscious and able to negotiate best deal
· Be a driver with own car and have a full UK Drivers Licence
