JOB TITLE: Hospitality Assistant
REPORTING TO: Hospitality Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: Home Manager
JOB PURPOSE:
You’ll be comfortable in an elderly care setting, with the ability to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner. You’ll be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise your work schedule to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Housekeeping:
-
To be a highly visible point of contact for residents and visitors
-
Using the resources available, ensure the homes are displayed to their best at all
times - internally and externally
-
To take personal responsibility in ensuring all beds are made up correctly each
morning and checks made throughout the day
-
To ensure all rooms are fresh, free from odor, clean and tidy and free from clutter.

To ensure all lounges and communal areas are clean, inviting and free from odor and clutter always.
-
To ensure all plants/flowers are watered and maintained at all times
-
Ensure the home is presented to its best on all occasions and is free from odor
-
Assist staff daily in ensuring all bedrooms are clean and tidy, including making beds, removing rubbish, watering plants, drawing curtains etc. as needed.

Ensure empty rooms are managed and presented as "show rooms" at all times
Dining Room I Meal service:
-
To familiarise yourself and all serving staff with the dietary requirements of all
residents dining in the dining areas by meeting with the home managers weekly and updating related documents.
-
To ensure the dining areas are always presented to the highest standard
and are set out appropriately for meals and any engagement events.

To liaise closely with the Catering Manager and Chef to ensure all meals are always
delivered to /served to residents on time.

Liaise with the catering manager in ensuring residents are receiving fresh drinks and
food throughout the day.
-
Manage the dining experience, ensuring the environment is conducive to a pleasant
experience for all residents.

To take responsibility to ensuring the presentation of meals to residents is of the
highest standard at all times

To meet with the Catering Manager/Chef daily to ensure the menus are as
advertised and ensure the administration team accurately display the correct menus
on all display mediums
-
To ensure all residents are offered choice and the choice cards are given to the
kitchen in good time
-
To ensure all residents receive fresh water first thing in the morning and at 4pm in
the afternoon daily
-
To check the fridges in the units daily to ensure stock is replenished and is in date
-
To ensure all residents are offered cut, fresh fruit or a fruit smoothie each afternoon
as part of their afternoon tea choice
-
To ensure all residents, especially those with special dietary requirements, ie
diabetics, are catered for during engagement events.

To liaise with the catering manager to ensure birthdays and special events are
catered for appropriately.
Communication:
-
To build excellent relationships with staff, residents, visitors and management
-
To always represent the Company in a professional manner
-
Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.

Keep up to date with Health & Safety issues
Training & Development:
-
Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

Maintain professional knowledge and competence in food hygiene, infection control
and health & safety
-
Adhere to the Homes disposal of waste policy.
-
Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an
infectious nature or accident incurred by a resident, colleague, self or another.

Understand and ensure the implementation of the Homes Health and Safety
policy, and Emergency / Fire procedures.
