Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the management team to deliver high-quality care within a compassionate and professional environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in assisted living, nursing home experience, or senior care to utilise their leadership skills and make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. The Deputy Manager will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with care standards, particularly in dementia and Alzheimer's care.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management of the care home, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Oversee the implementation and review of personalised care plans for residents, including those requiring specialised dementia or Alzheimer's care.
- Lead on compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards.
- Support staff training programmes to maintain high standards of care and leadership development.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing, responding promptly to any concerns or incidents.
- Assist with recruitment, staff rotas, and performance management processes.
- Liaise effectively with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to promote resident-centred care.
Requirements
- Proven experience within assisted living environments or nursing homes, particularly in senior or dementia care settings.
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising or management experience within a care home or home care setting.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and medication administration procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in providing person-centred care for older adults.
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent are desirable.
- Good understanding of dementia and Alzheimer's disease management strategies.
