Radiance Care Limited was established in 2021, with a shared vision to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. The organisation has grown rapidly and now operates three care homes across two cities, with a combined bed capacity of 238.

The care homes operated by Radiance Care Limited include Stainton Way Care Home and Stainton Lodge Care Home, both located in Middlesbrough. The third home is Eden Court Care Home in Halifax. These services provide care primarily for the elderly population, delivered in close collaboration with Local Integrated Care Services, Local Authorities, and in full compliance with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Radiance Care Limited offers a broad range of specialist services, including residential care, nursing care, challenging dementia care, and mental health services, ensuring person-centred, safe, and effective care tailored to individual needs.

All three care homes are rated “Overall Good” by the Care Quality Commission, reflecting strong governance, effective leadership, and a commitment to continuous quality improvement.

As part of its strategic growth, Radiance Care Limited has acquired Northeast Care Home Limited, further strengthening its presence in the care sector while maintaining high standards of care and regulatory compliance.

The organisation currently employs approximately 300 staff, including a regional manager, registered managers, unit managers, nurses, carers, kitchen staff, domestic staff, and administrative personnel. 

We are looking for Businesss director, HR director , Purchase and Maintenance director to serve our group of care homes. These roles, although have individual responsibilities, will be interchangeable. The ideal candidate will be possessing most of the skills and will be complementing each other on the responsibilities. Please specify which role you will be applying for or all three. You are required to travel between all the current sites 

Salary 

Purchasing Maintenance Director -£ 54,7000 p.a

Human Resource Director - £ 52,900p.a

Business Director - £74,700 p.a

Working hours- 40 hrs per week with expectation to attend evening / weekend meetings as required by directors

Place of work- Variable between sites

University Graduation in Science/IT ideally with management degree

In preparation for the establishment of a centralised Head Office, Radiance Care Limited is planning to strengthen its senior leadership structure through the appointment of key executive roles. These planned appointments include a Business Director, Purchasing and Maintenance Director, Finance Director, and Human Resources Director.

These roles will provide strategic oversight and centralised leadership across core business functions, including operations, procurement, estates and maintenance, financial management, workforce planning, and regulatory compliance. The enhanced leadership structure will support consistent service delivery, improved cost control, effective staff management, and robust governance across all care homes.

Director of Purchase & Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Centralising inventory of equipment/ stocks

• Connectivity: Monitoring site-wide WIFI, which is critical for both resident wellbeing and staff operations.

• Electronic Care Records (ECR): Ensuring the hardware and network stability required for digital care planning, as per CQC Digital Record guidelines.

• Troubleshooting: Acting as the escalation point for all IT-related issues.

• Email management/ data back up

• Maintaining patient care software and troubleshooting

• Digitalising HR files

4. Strategic Expansion Support

• New Site Acquisition: Leading the viewing of new care homes and conducting due diligence on the physical state of potential assets.

• Site Visits: Frequent "boots on the ground" inspections at Stainton Way, Stainton Lodge, and Eden Court to ensure consistency in infrastructure.

• Purchasing and Maintenance Director – Key Operational Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage weekly purchasing activities, ensuring timely procurement, value for money, and continuity of supplies across all care homes.

• Authorise, plan, and supervise maintenance works, including reactive repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishment projects.

• Conduct quality analysis and post-completion reviews of maintenance and repair work to ensure standards, safety, and value are achieved.

• Supervise and manage maintenance personnel, including workload planning, performance monitoring, and compliance with health and safety requirements.

• Address and oversee IT-related issues, ensuring effective operation and continuity of digital systems.

• Monitor and manage essential services, including Wi-Fi, electronic care record systems, gas, electricity, and other utilities, ensuring reliability and compliance.

• Ensure completion, monitoring, and documentation of annual statutory and regulatory checks, including gas safety, electrical testing, fire safety systems, water hygiene, and lifting equipment.

• Oversee and manage service contracts, including but not limited to QCS, Citation, JLA, breakdown cover, and other specialist providers, ensuring contract compliance and value.

• Undertake site visits, including viewing and assessing new care homes as part of expansion, due diligence, and acquisition planning.

• Manage breakdown and emergency cover arrangements, ensuring prompt response and minimal disruption to care delivery.

• Supervise and maintain the infrastructure and physical environment of all care homes, ensuring safe, well-maintained, and fit-for-purpose premises.

The Human Resource (HR) Director 

Responsibilities

Strategic and operational management of the 300+ staff across its three homes. 

Strategic HR Leadership

• Expansion Planning: Designing a scalable "People Strategy" to support the acquisition of new sites and the onboarding of ~100+ additional staff over the next two years.

• Culture & Values: Embedding the 6 Cs (Care, Compassion, etc.) across the group to ensure consistency between the Middlesbrough and Halifax facilities.

• Succession Planning: Identifying and developing internal talent for Registered Manager and Unit Manager roles to minimize the impact of leadership turnover. 

CQC Compliance & Safeguarding

• Regulation 18 (Staffing): Ensuring all staff receive the required support, training, professional development, and annual appraisals.

• Regulation 19 (Fit and Proper Persons): Overseeing rigorous safe recruitment processes, including mandatory DBS checks and verifying professional qualifications.

• Training Audits: Monitoring compliance with mandatory training, such as the Care Certificate, safeguarding, and infection control. 

Operational HR Management

• Employee Relations: Acting as the final authority on complex grievances, disciplinary actions, and Employment Tribunals.

• Retention Strategy: Developing competitive remuneration and benefits packages to combat the high turnover typical in the social care sector.

• Policy Development: Standardizing all HR policies—from sickness absence to maternity leave—into a single group-wide handbook.

• Workforce Analytics: Monitoring key metrics like staff turnover rates, agency spend, and "cost per hire" to report directly to the Board of Directors. 

Executive Board Contribution

• Budgeting: Managing the HR department's annual budget and advising the Finance Director on projected staffing costs for new care homes.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Representing Radiance Care Ltd in negotiations with Local Authorities and trade unions.
