Job summary
Senior Care oversees a team of care staff to ensure high-quality, person-centred support is delivered to patients or service users. This role combines hands?on care with leadership, coordination, and administrative responsibilities to maintain safe, effective, and compassionate care services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
•
Lead, motivate, and support a team of care workers to deliver
excellent care.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching,
and performance feedback.
• Allocate tasks, and ensure
adequate staffing levels.
Care Delivery
• Support with
direct care when required, ensuring dignity, respect, and
safety.
• Monitor care plans and ensure they are followed and
updated appropriately.
• Promote best practices in safeguarding, infection control, and
medication handling.
• Act as the main point of contact
between staff, families, and external professionals.
•
Facilitate effective handovers and ensure accurate
record-keeping.
• Escalate concerns promptly and ensure
incidents are reported correctly.
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure the team meets regulatory
standards and organisational policies.
• Participate in
audits, risk assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
•
Support new staff with induction and ongoing training.
