Bearehill Care Home is set in beautiful grounds in the town of Brechin and provides high quality Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care for up to 49 residents. Our warm and welcoming home places great importance on mealtimes, creating a positive dining experience that supports wellbeing, choice and enjoyment.

We are now recruiting a skilled and reliable Second Chef to join our kitchen team. This is a rewarding role where your cooking will make a real difference to residents’ daily lives by providing nutritious, well-presented meals that bring comfort and enjoyment.

What We Offer

• £13.00 per hour
• 35 hours per week

• 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

Your Role
As Second Chef you will support the Head Chef in the day to day running of the kitchen, preparing and serving high quality hot and cold meals that meet residents’ dietary needs and preferences. You will help plan balanced menus, work with fresh ingredients and ensure meals are both nutritious and enjoyable.

You will maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, monitor temperatures, manage stock rotation and support ordering and delivery checks. You will also help ensure the kitchen operates efficiently within budget while providing a welcoming dining experience for residents.

When required, you will take the lead in the kitchen, demonstrating good organisation, teamwork and a calm, professional approach.

What We’re Looking For

• City and Guilds 706 1 and 2 or equivalent, or working towards
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
• Experience preparing meals in a professional kitchen environment
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A positive and caring approach, recognising the importance of mealtimes for residents
