I was delighted to get a place at Laurels for my Mum as I had heard nothing but positive feedback about the care they offer. From the lead up to admission and through the moving in process all the staff were excellent and really helped to make my Mum's transition as smooth as possible. All the staff
I have encountered have gone out of their way to ensure that my Mum's needs are met and that she is treated with dignity, respect and kindness. The staff have been very reassuring and helpful if we have had any queries. The consistent staff group, under the strong leadership of Sheila, promote a warm and welcoming environment and the home is clean and the care is person centred. They offer a range of stimulating daily activities for the residents which has been vital for my Mum's wellbeing. The positive change in her demeanour in such a short space of time has been amazing and as a family we are incredibly grateful to the staff for all they have done so far to bring back my Mum's sparkle.
Reply from Shelia Gesma, Manager at Laurels Lodge Care HomeWe truly appreciate the feedback that you have provided about Laurels Lodge and the staff team, we are immensely proud of the positive change to your Mum's general wellbeing in such a short period of time. We prioritise all our residents' wellbeing and we will continue to work hard to provide excellent care.

Although my mum has only been cared for at Gowrie for a few months so far. I am very happy with the care and support she has been given. The manager and assistant manager always have the time to listen, the staff are so kind. Although its sad my mum can no longer live at home I feel that the Gowrie
team are supporting her to feel relaxed and safe in her new home. I am totally satisfied that mum is a good place.
Reply from Elaine Berry, Manager at Gowrie House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words these mean so much to us. It is a pleasure and a privilege to have mum with us in Gowrie and it is a pleasure to have had your support and guidance to make mums transition a smooth one.

After 18 months of trying to care for my M-I-Law at home and numerous hospital admissions where we had to fight for care at home on discharge, my M-I-Law moved to Gowrie on 4 December last year. She is now settled and is being very well cared for. The staff are all so kind and really do go over and
above, displaying good practice, professionalism and kindness. I would like to add that the management team are excellent, always open and inclusive to us as a family.
Reply from Elaine Berry, Manager at Gowrie House Care HomeHi thank you so much for very kind words, this means a great deal to all of us to know that mum is enjoying her time in Gowrie and you feel part of this transition. Your mother in law has very quickly become a massive part of our extended family and brings a smile to our faces daily. Mum loves her own time but also joins in and loves a good old gossip with staff. (Name: Elaine Berry Email: manager@gowriehouse.co.uk Position: Manager)

My mother was admitted after her home was flooded by storm babet. Since then she has been a resident in the home and the care that she receives has been first class. The staff are all friendly and very helpful anytime that she needs any help I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about how
well she is being looked after. I know that she is safe and in very good hands.
Reply from Annamarie Hudson, Home Manager at Bearehill Care HomeThank you so much for sharing your lovely feedback. Were truly sorry that your mother had to go through such a difficult experience with the flooding, but were grateful that weve been able to support her since she joined us. It means a great deal to hear that she is receiving the care, kindness, and attention she deserves. Our team takes great pride in creating a safe, welcoming environment, and your words will mean so much to them. Knowing that you feel confident in the care she receives is incredibly important to us. My mum was admitted to Henderson House Care Home at the beginning of December and immediately the friendly staff made her feel welcome and at ease. She settled in so well that she started putting on weight. She had a lovely outlook from her room over the garden and liked to watch the sunsets. She
took pleasure in seeing and hearing all the comings and goings of the day to day care home life and wanted her door left open. From all the positives we experienced we fully expected my mum to be in her 'forever home' for a couple of years. Unfortunately her health deteriorated quite suddenly and she sadly passed after just 2 months. We cannot praise the staff highly enough for the care and compassion they showed. They always treated my mum with dignity, professionalism and empathy.
Reply from Richard Lake, Manager at Henderson House Care HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review, especially at what we know is a very difficult time.
End-of-life care is incredibly important to us. Ensuring that loved ones pass comfortably, without pain or anxiety, is at the heart of what we do. Supporting families during this time is equally important, and we are truly pleased that we were able to help you through such a challenging period.
I will be sure to pass on your kind thanks to the team at Henderson House. Your words will mean a great deal to our dedicated and hardworking staff.

Our Mum was transferred from hospital to Buchanan House on Boxing Day, following a severe stroke in September. The transition could not have been smoother and the staff more welcoming to Mum and us from that day onwards. The care Mum received was exceptional and every member of staff went above and
beyond to make Mum as comfortable as possible. Mum needed full nursing care and this was given in the most caring and dignified way. We, as a family, were met with smiling faces by the staff every time we visited, and were made to feel very much at home at Buchanan House.
Sadly, Mum passed away after being in the care home for 7 weeks and we cannot thank the staff enough for the care they gave her in those final weeks. We, as a family, feel we are leaving behind friends now that we are no longer visiting Buchanan House.
In Mum's final hours and minutes the staff showed such compassion and sensitivity to her and to all of us as a family. We cannot recommend the home highly enough.
Reply from Kathleen Glasgow, Home Manger at Buchanan House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words which I will pass on to the team. We welcome all feedback as this helps us to improve the service we provide for our residents and their families. Your Mum was a lovely lady and I wish we could have had the privilege of caring for her longer. May she Rest in Peace. Thank you again, this means a lot.

My dad moved into Buchanan Lodge just over
a month ago, this was a smooth transition from a spell in hospital. He is settling in very well and the staff are attentive to his care needs and ensuring he is feeling relaxed and welcome. He is enjoying the choice of meals and participating in the daily activities.
The home itself feels welcoming and cosy, it is nice to hear some background music playing as you enter the premises. We have been able to add some personal items to dad's bedroom to help make it feel more like his own. The team have also been very accommodating with family enquiries which is much appreciated.

My overall experience is good. I feel that the residents could do with a lot more activities; they spend far too much time in their rooms, and need to get their minds more stimulated. The staff are excellent and do what they can, although they are understaffed.
Reply from Richard Lake, Manager at Henderson House Care HomeThank you for your lovely review. It means so much to all the staff and management team to receive such positive and constructive feedback.
We completely agree that activities are vital to our residents' wellbeing, and we are delighted to announce that a new team of four activities coordinators will be joining us within the next three weeks.

Care home is kept clean and tidy at all times. Staff are approachable and activity staff go out of their way to do all they can to make the residents day more pleasant. Food is a bit too fancy for mum who is a plain eater.

My wife has been a resident of Henderson House for 3 years now and the Care she has had is totally satisfactory. The care staff have got to know her and she is treated more like an old friend or relative than a care home resident..
She is happy and contented most of the time, and for my part I am
confident that she is being looked after well.
If she does get upset ( as part of her illness) the staff soon notice and are adept at cheering her up
The environment of the Home is bright and modern and is kept very clean and odour free at all times.

We are very pleased with the care our mum receives at Maryfield West. The staff are kind, attentive and genuinely caring, and they always take the time to make sure she is comfortable and well looked after.

My wife has been a resident since February 2025. I visit nearly every day, sometimes twice if events are on. The staff have always been excellent for my wife and myself. My wife has her hair done by the hairdresser every week. I have eaten meals at Christmas and New Year with my wife at home, and the
food is very good. Plenty of activities. Because my wife is mobile, I walk nearly every day on the beach at the rear of home. My wife has a great friendship with carers as they strive to keep everyone happy. My friends and family who visit think as I do.
