Henderson House Care Home in Dalgety Bay, Fife, provides person-centred care around the clock, including nursing and dementia. The care home prides itself on creating a safe and welcoming environment where residents can feel at home, supported by experienced and dedicated staff.

The home boasts 60 en-suite bedrooms furnished to the highest standard, with 32 bedrooms based on the lower ground floor of the service with an additional 28 bedrooms based on the upper floor.

Each level of the home is designed with two main lounges with an adjoining dining rooms which boasts a lot of natural light. This is where you will find most of the home's various activities being held.

The upper floor of the service and a newly decorated and furnished cinema room which hold movie afternoons to suit all ages is very popular during the darker evenings.

Henderson House also has a coffee cafe which has an incredible view of the grounds of the service and is very popular.

The lower level of Henderson House has a sensory room that provides various methods of sensory such as music, doll therapy as well as mood lighting that has been proven to support and stimulate people with dementia.

Discussed my father's well being and this was noted by staff. My father misplaces items as he has early dementia so plan to be put in place so he doesn't lose his hearing aids and spectacles.
The staff have been attentive to his daily needs and I feel he is receiving good care and attention, whilst
keeping on top of administering his medication.
The staff are always kind and friendly towards my father and include him in all activities he wishes to attend.

I am delighted with the care that my Mum receives. The compassion shown by members of staff is so good to see. Any issues get dealt with in good time. I like that meals are held at a table in a dinning room rather than in bedrooms as this helps residents to make friends and not feel isolated.

Mum was admitted January 25 until her death on 6th. June.
During her stay, the staff did all they could to help, make her welcome, comfortable, and as happy as could be.
The staff were compassionate, caring, always with a smile. Mum, initially interacted freely with the carers, but unfortunately,
as her condition deteriorated and needed more care.
As time went on Mum needed more intensive care which the staff delivered with a smile. As time passed she became completely unable to do anything for herself. The carers continued to provide professional care up to the last day.

I've been really happy with my mum's care since she moved to Henderson House, and the attention of the staff has been amazing. My mum has made good progress and is enjoying participating in the many events organised by the staff, who go above and beyond to entertain their service users. The recent silent
disco was a triumph!
All in all, we as a family are delighted with Henderson House.

Everyone at Henderson house always has the service users interests at heart. My mum is normally the main person that deals with visiting my Nan and communicating with Henderson House but when my mum was away on holiday it was up to me to be the go to person.
I cannot thank them enough for listening
to my concerns and them being actioned straight away, there is nothing that is to much hassle and I feel like I'm part of one big family. Managing to get my Nan out of her room and along to play bingo as they know she loves it. Thank you for making some tricky times so much easier.

At the beginning of 2025 my family made the very difficult decision to place my mother, who has dementia, in alternative care. My father lives in Dalgety Bay so Henderson House was our first choice. We did much research due to the fact Henderson House is NOT the facility it used to be. The NEW care
team from manager to nurses and all the other essential support staff are AMAZING.


My family are so impressed with the team that has been assembled to take care of the elderly with dementia. It is very comforting to us to see their charges, including our mother, well cared for, treated with dignity and affection, all the time being safe. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with smiles and a cheerful hello. EVERYONE has time to address your concerns and questions. Emails are returned promptly. This is especially important to my sister and myself as neither of us live in the UK anymore.

My dad has been in Henderson House for over 5 years with dementia, which has been very hard to watch as his daughter. The staff have helped me understand the illness as much as they can, some days are harder than others, but they always take time to sit and talk with me.


The staff at the home take

on my dads needs, his room. has all his photographs up of his family and a lot of his individual items, which are all looked after.
Dad spends most of his time in the dining room/lounge, so that he can see what is going on and be involved in what is happening (Nosey) still!


If I have any problems or concerns the staff are always there for me to go to and discuss what is worrying me and then help sort it out. The home is a not just a home it is a large family (Henderson Family). They not only look after their residents they take care to look after family members as well.

My mum is thriving in Henderson House. She has made friends and they have meal times together.
Mum is well looked after and happy. Her room is warm and clean. All the staff are kind and caring and know Mum's likes and dislikes.

I find that Henderson House listened to all of my mums needs and were able to accommodate her requests. Nothing is too much trouble for all of the staff. Activities are great for my mums wellbeing and always see smiles when I visit. A few weeks ago my mum had a fall when out with me. The way the staff
treated the situation was first class when we arrived back from A & E at 23.45hrs staff had been briefed and gave mum excellent care, checking on her every 30 minutes. A fantastic home.

At the start of 2024, we had to take the difficult decision to move Mum into residential care, and she moved into Henderson House 8 months ago. Up until then, she had lived with either myself or my sister for 5 years, and we had hoped that could continue. But it couldn't - and since Mum moved to Henderson
House we have had such positive experiences. The staff genuinely care about the residents, Mum is so well looked after and cared for, they really seem to enjoy having her there! We were able to personalise her room, so Mum feels at home with her things around her. And even more than that - the staff show a genuine interest in the lives of her and her family, acknowledging who we all are and the part we still want to play in her life. It is lovely to be able to be her daughter again, rather than her carer, and to enjoy the time we have together. We put our trust in the Care Home Manager and his team, and they have proved themselves, beyond doubt.

My mother became a resident at the beginning of February and the care home and its staff have been absolutely amazing. From the initial contact with the Home Manager, who was so helpful and friendly, to the everyday functioning of the home and care of the residents, it’s been first class. My mother
has had a second lease of life moving into the home. She’s loving all the activities, all her new friends and the food! The staff are so proactive in getting the residents to join in and it’s great to see all the photos/videos of them enjoying themselves. It’s brought a huge relief to my brother, as we can now go and spend quality time with my mother whilst she is being so well looked after. All our mother's care is now looked after by the home from doctor, hairdresser, optician, dentist and podiatrist. The rooms are a good size and it’s great you can personalise them and bring in some photos and belongings. We would definitely recommend the home as our experience has been so positive.

My dad was in Henderson House for 5 weeks it was his first time away from living at home (he's almost 91 years old) and he was made so welcome from the minute he arrived. He was treated with such kindness and formed a bond very quickly will all the staff who treated him with love and respect. I had
absolute confidence in them and cannot thank them enough for taking the time to make sure he was okay and for taking the time to get to know him.

What a gem Henderson House Care Home is! It is set in a beautiful location with trees surrounding it. They have a beautiful well-kept garden area with chickens that provide fresh eggs - yum! The staff, nurses and management all have plenty of time to make everyone feel welcome. They have a challenging
job to look after our loved ones but do it well with a smile. Not forgetting the rest of the team, cleaners, kitchen staff and hairdressers. Thank you all.

From the moment you walk into Henderson House, the welcome is lovely with smiles and a caring hello. All the staff are so ready to listen. The home is immaculately clean and my husband says the food is always tasty. All the staff work very hard to ensure the residents and relatives are comfortable and
happy. They also welcome with open arms our puppy cocker spaniel. Can highly recommend it.

My mum resided in the home for 8 months until she passed in March. I spent ten days in Henderson by her side. The staff were all extremely caring and professional, and each and every one of them went above and beyond to ensure my mum's final days were as peaceful, pain-free and loving as they could
be.
They were extremely attentive and caring to me, too, and I honestly don't think I would have gotten through that period of time without their kindness, support and love. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It reassured me that my mum had been looked after extremely well whilst she was there, and although I never wanted her to go into a care home, I completely changed my mind during that time.
The staff were exceptional, and I'll never forget how amazing they all were during such a difficult time. My mum's sense of humour remained until the end, thanks to the bond she had with the carers and staff.

    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have been in the care sector for 10 years, I started my career as a Care Assistant in 2012 then progressed to Senior care assistant within the same year. I had the passion and drive and wanted to challenge myself so I applied to become a Deputy Manager for a large local provider. I was in this role for 9 months I then was appointed as a Care Manager where I built and developed a successful care service.


During this time I worked on building strong community links and also opened a pub within the grounds of the care home. I joined Henderson House in January 2022 as Interim Care Manager I have a passion for providing person-centred care. I have a real passion for staff development and strive to support and empower all my staff. I would like my Residents and Relatives to know that I operate an open-door policy.

My name is Anne Masterton and I have worked at Henderson House since 2014. My previous background was in palliative care and I worked with Marie Curie for 17 years. Transferring my skills to Henderson House has allowed staff to learn and develop their skills in palliative and end-of-life care.


I thoroughly love spending time on the floor caring for residents and their families and working closely with the care staff. I am passionate about delivering a high standard of care to each resident and ensuring families are kept up to date with care needs.

I am Kessie Cabatingan-Omnos, born and raised in Philippines. I have been a qualified nurse since 2012, been working as a Theatre and Neonatal Intensive Nurse for 6 years.
