My Mum went into Bearehill in December 2025 with severe Alzheimer's disease and other various health issues. The home she was in were unable to continue to care for her but Bearehill assessed her and gave her a warm welcome. The staff were all wonderful and attentive with Mum despite her difficulties, treating her with dignity and respect. She passed away in March and they ensured our family had privacy and were looked after as Mum peacefully passed. I would recommend Bearehill to anyone with a loved one in need of this type of care.

My mother was admitted after her home was flooded by storm babet. Since then she has been a resident in the home and the care that she receives has been first class. The staff are all friendly and very helpful anytime that she needs any help I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about how well she is being looked after. I know that she is safe and in very good hands.

My mother was admitted to Bearehill after her home was severely damaged in the flooding caused by Storm Babet. The restoration of her house was expected to take a considerable amount of time.
She was initially admitted to Bearehill on a respite package. At first, she felt apprehensive, which is completely normal, but she quickly settled in. Eventually, she expressed a desire to remain in the facility if a vacancy became available. When one did, she adjusted very well.
This positive experience is largely due to the staff she interacts with daily. They are attentive, respectful, accommodating, and professional in their approach to caring for the residents.
Now, my mother benefits from regular interaction with both other residents and staff. The activities offered almost daily are very beneficial, focusing not only on entertainment but also on mental and physical well-being, which is particularly important for individuals in her age group.

We recently had to make the hard decision to put my nan into a care home. As she suffers from Alzheimer's we needed somewhere she could receive 24hr care, meet new friends and feel safe. From the moment we walked into Bearhill we were wowed by the grand entrance and beautiful front rooms. We just knew it was the perfect place. We were allowed to add some of her home comforts to make her room feel more personal. My nan said it was just like a grand hotel, she told us the meals are first class with lots of choices and you can choose which dinning room you use. There's entertainment everyday, always something to do. To hear her telling us about how lovely it is really confirmed that we had made the right decision. All staff are so friendly and helpful. Everyone is so obliging, you are always welcomed with a smile. It's a joy to visit and see her so happy and settled. I must mention the manager has been absolutely fantastic. We would highly recommend Bearhill Care Home.

My gran was previously in Bearehill Care Home last year for a short period of time. Her experience was good however she recently returned to the care home this month and the difference that the manager has made to the home is exceptional. The staff are, overall, more supportive, caring and attentive to the residents. The new current ratings prove the difference that the manager has made to Bearehill Care Home.

I am very happy to leave a review for Bearehill Care Home. They have been absolutely wonderful with my mum who can be very challenging in that she never sits still and needs to be constantly 'found' and encouraged to sit down! All the staff are so caring of her and I appreciate that they like her too - so I know that the care they give is not just part of the job. All the staff are very friendly, professional and extremely kind and caring. I am so grateful that she is in such a loving, care home and is so very well looked after. If there is a problem then I am kept notified and I appreciate this. I have to also say that the staff are caring of me and my family when we visit too - I feel like part of the Bearehill family. A huge thanks to all the staff.

My mum was in Bearehill Care Home for respite back in 2022/2023, at this time the care home was being run by an interim manager. It was ok and lots better than the previous care home she was in.
My mum has since returned to Bearehill for more respite at the beginning of July 2024. The experience this time is nothing short of amazing, from the first visit by the manager and assistant to my mum's home to see what needs she had. Then once she arrived. Nothing is too much trouble, you name it, the manager and staff have it covered.

Mum is really happy this time which is the main thing and we are made so welcome when we go to visit her. I would have no hesitation recommending Bearehill to anyone for their care home needs.

My mother-in-law is in for her second round of respite care. The previous one being last year. Previously, I had no complaints. The staff are lovely and work so hard. Nothing is too much. Food is wonderful and plentiful. I didn't feel they needed to improve. However, when she went back this month. What a difference. Wow! The whole place seems to feel happier. You can usually hear laughter when you walk in. The difference being the new manager. She is fantastic. What an asset to the home. Always cheery. Takes the time to speak to her residents and their families and always has a massive smile on her face. The manager is exactly what Bearehill Care Home needed. Thank you so much.

The garden grounds are not utilised, due to the very poor condition of the road and car park.
Additionally the absence of a proper path network makes it unsafe to take residents out for a walk in the extensive gardens.
I understand there is a fundraiser in progress for a garden makeover, however I feel a safe outdoor area is a basic necessity to encourage better health and well-being and should be inclusive to all.

Otherwise I have found the care, food, cleanliness and facilities very good and have nothing but praise for the staff, who are friendly, helpful and caring.

I just wanted to take time to show my appreciation for all the staff at Bearehill Care Home who look after my dad. He has come on heaps since staying at Bearehill and it wasn’t a decision that came easy for my dad to go into care. The staff go above and beyond to support my dad and my mum stays regularly to have lunch with him. Most recently especially with it having been my mum's 80th birthday, the staff made a special dining area for the two of them and decorated it for them both to enjoy the day. I would just like to say thank you to all for everything you do.

I went to visit my daughter overseas and my mum went into Bearehill Care Home for one month's respite. Beforehand, the whole thought of this process was very scary to me but from the moment I started the enquiry for my mum, I could not have been more reassured. We met the Care Manager who was brilliant and came out to visit my mum in her home and filled out a comprehensive care plan to put everything in place before we even got there. The home was clean, warm, very beautiful and we were made to feel so welcome. My mum’s room was beautiful, comfortable and everything was in place to make her safe. All the staff were brilliant, all open and friendly and did everything to help my mum have the best respite break ever, I could not be more grateful. My mum loved the social aspect and enjoyed meeting other residents and her chats too with all members of the team. My mum has coeliac disease and can’t have gluten, the cook went out of her way to prepare the most delicious meals for Mum!
