We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our Night team within a reputable family operated care home. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a compassionate approach to senior care. This role involves supervising care staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care, and supporting residents to maintain their independence and wellbeing. The Senior Care Assistant will play a vital role in implementing care plans and fostering a warm, respectful environment for all residents.

Duties
- Supervise and support junior care staff to ensure the delivery of excellent care services
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and medication management
- Develop, review, and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals
- Provide leadership and guidance during shift handovers, ensuring continuity of care
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident progress and care activities using IT systems
- Foster effective communication with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to promote transparency and trust
- Organise training sessions or briefings for staff to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Support residents’ emotional wellbeing through empathetic engagement and companionship
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care within a care home environment, including supervising or leadership roles
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
- Competent in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- Knowledge of care plans, emergency response and safeguarding procedures
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine interest in providing high-quality senior care
