Job summary

Hazelford Care Home in Bleasby is looking to recruit compassionate and reliable Care Assistants to join our team on day or night shifts.

We are a 36-bed care home providing person-centred care in a friendly, welcoming environment. Our residents are at the heart of everything we do, supported by dedicated staff and supportive families.

Job Details

  • Role: Care Assistant (Day/ night Shifts)
  • Hours: Full-time / Part-time available
  • Contract: Permanent
  • Shift Pattern: Day or night shifts, including alternate weekends
  • Pay: Competitive rate (discussed at interview)

Role Overview

As a Care Assistant, you will support residents with their personal care, daily activities, and emotional wellbeing, promoting dignity, independence, and choice at all times.

You will play a vital role in ensuring residents feel safe, respected, and valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting
  • Supporting residents with meals and hydration
  • Assisting with mobility and safe moving & handling
  • Encouraging independence and participation in daily activities
  • Maintaining accurate care records
  • Working in line with CQC standards, safeguarding, and infection control policies
  • Building positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues

Essential Criteria

  • A kind, caring, and patient nature
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work day shifts and alternate weekends
  • Ability to follow care plans and policies
  • Respect for dignity, privacy, and choice
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience as a Care Assistant (training provided for the right person)
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience working in a care home or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and infection control
