The Company

Our two sixty-bed Care Homes are based in St George’s Park, Ditchling Common, within 3 miles of both Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, set within 250 acres of beautiful gardens and farmlands, in an area of outstanding natural beauty with views overlooking the South Downs.

The Role

We’re looking for a friendly, proactive, and versatile individual to join our Kitchen and Hospitality team. This varied role covers Front of House, the bar, shop, concierge and kitchen support, helping us deliver an exceptional experience for residents and guests. You will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the catering function wherever needed within St George’s Park.   Whilst this is a multi-site position, all working locations are on one site covering different kitchens within our site including our Retirement Village, Care Homes, and Assisted Living Development.

What you’ll do:

  • Welcome and serve customers in a warm, professional manner across our dining, bar and shop areas.
  • Set up, serve and clear tables, manage reservations, and support special functions.
  • Prepare and serve drinks, restock the bar, handle cash and maintain accurate till records.
  • Assist residents with purchases in the shop, restock shelves, handle deliveries and prepare simple bakery/breakfast items.
  • Provide concierge-style assistance, including delivering refreshments and responding to resident emergencies if required.
  • Help in the kitchen with basic food prep, serving meals, washing up, cleaning and safe food storage.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and compliance with health & safety, COSHH and licensing regulations.
  • Work collaboratively across all catering departments and support new staff as required.

Working hours:

40 hours per week (4 x 10 hour shifts)

Shifts are rostered and will include alternate weekend working. The successful candidate will therefore need to have the flexibility to work any day of the week.

Requirements

  • At least 1 years' experience of working within a catering industry is essential.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 is desirable, or be prepared to study for this.
  • It is not essential to have experience within a Care/ Care Home setting but would be desirable in understanding the different needs of our residents.
  • All posts are subject to a clear enhanced criminal record check and satisfactory references.
  • Proof of x2 Covid-19 vaccinations
  • This role does not meet the requirements of Sponsorship - you must have current valid right to work in the UK.
