About Us:

We are a 36-bed residential care home in Sedgley, Dudley, providing high-quality care for elderly residents. We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook/Chef to prepare nutritious and well-balanced meals for our residents.

The Role:

As our Cook/Chef, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, home-cooked meals that cater to our residents’ dietary needs and preferences. Experience in a care home or similar environment is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare high-quality, traditional meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements
Ensure all food is prepared to a high standard while maintaining strict hygiene and safety regulations
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards
Keep accurate records of meals provided and report any dietary changes or concerns
Report any defects in kitchen equipment to the Home Manager
Work closely with the care team to support residents' nutritional needs

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in cooking for large groups (preferably in a care home, school, or similar setting)
Understanding of dietary requirements for the elderly, including soft diets and allergens
Level 2 Food Hygiene & Level 2 Allergy Awareness certification (or willingness to obtain)
A passion for creating nutritious and enjoyable meals for residents
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
