Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Carer / Senior Care Assistant to join our caring team within a reputable care home. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise care staff to deliver high-quality personal and clinical care in accordance with care plans.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility support.
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and external healthcare professionals through effective communication.
- Organise activities that promote social engagement and mental wellbeing among residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Support the training and mentoring of junior staff members to promote professional development.
- Participate in rota planning to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care or supervisory roles within a care home setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Competent IT skills for managing care plans, documentation, and reporting systems.
- Knowledge of current care standards, safeguarding procedures, and health & safety regulations.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine desire to improve residents’ quality of life.
- Organised with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
