Ashmore Grange Care Home is seeking experienced and skilled Cooks to join us on this exciting new journey.

Providing residential, respite, and dementia care, with 67 state-of-the-art rooms for residents to reside in, spacious dining and lounge areas, and so much more, we are excited to be bringing this opportunity to Lubbesthorpe!

What you will receive as a Cook;

  • £12.88 per hour
  • Part-time, permanent contract
  • 28.88 hours per week on a 6-weekly rolling rota
  • 9-hour shifts, 7.30am-4.30pm, 3 on 3 off
  • Based in Lubbesthorpe

What you will be doing as a Cook;

  • Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals that are appealing, nutritious and individual to the resident’s likes and dislikes
  • Assist in the planning of menus and ordering of food within set budget parameters
  • Prepare home-baked goods for tea and celebrations
  • Be aware at all times, of the Residents’ dietary needs and preferences
  • Ensure food is prepared and stored following guidelines from the Environmental Health Department
  • Maintaining food stocks and reordering where needed
  • Actively engage with residents in conversation and meaningful activities related to their lifestyle choices
  • Participate in the cleaning program of the kitchen to ensure that all appliances and the kitchen environment are kept hygienic and clean

What you will need to be successful as a Cook;

  • Previous experience in catering for a minimum of 25 covers
  • Hold a current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • COSHH training and understanding of HACCP
  • Ability to plan and prepare creature comforts, as well as bring new and tasty ideas to the menu
  • Have caring, calm and compassionate nature, with the ability to communicate with others on various levels
